Wren and Royce were inseparable as kids but now they could hardly find anything to talk about without feeling awkward. It wasn't that the siblings were on bad terms or hated each other, far from it but ever since Nathan fell from their trio, they drifted apart too.

Once after finishing dinner when Royce was heading back to his room, he heard the sound of muffled cries. He could tell it was coming from Wren's room, he knew it and stood outside her room, fingers itching to turn the doorknob but his body seemed to be paralyzed in one spot, tears prickling in the back of his eyes and sweat glistening his neck.

He couldn't tell for how long he stood there, wishing to comfort his baby sister and cradle her in his arms but he was a coward, running away from his worst fear was his second nature. A sickening feeling knotted in his stomach.

Royce wanted to ask her what was the thing bothering her but she was just as closed off as he was with everyone. They no longer shared each other's company like they used to.

He slept outside her room instead.
