Nathan Maverick wants to be forgiven.
It doesn't matter by who, it doesn't matter where or why. It certainly doesn't matter how the procedure goes or what price he has to pay and it absolutely doesn't matter what he's seeking forgiveness for. He just wants to be forgiven by someone, perhaps anyone will do for the matter but most importantly by that one person who's never going to stop hating him, let alone forgive. Not anytime soon and probably not in this lifetime anyway.
Nathan's asking for too much, surely, he's being greedy, selfish, and childish. He should know his place. Though a part of him can't help but wonder if Royce was ever going to forgive him. What a fool he was for even thinking about it, right?
Even so Nathan Maverick still wants to be forgiven and if possible he also wants to be forgotten.
