Royce and Nathan fell back to their old routine, pretending as if neither of them existed.
It wasn't hard considering they were both very good at masking their emotions but it can only be done to a limited extent. Royce always thought if one of them had to fall first, it would surely be him. He was short-tempered, moody, and had little to no patience.
Turned out, Nathan's shell broke before him and he wasn't as stone cold as he appeared most of the time.
Royce was just passing by the hall when he heard the shrill of scream. He shut his locker slowly, watching students rush out with their bag flinging around. He could only catch the word fight and boys in all the madness. It looked like a few kids got into a fight and of course, Rickwood highschool loved a good fight.
Royce couldn't be bothered by such useless things and went on to his next class.
