Jeongin breathed out again. He cannot afford to lose (Y/N). Right then and there, he knew he needed to do something. He quickly ran out of the company building, sending an immediate text to Chan that he had an emergency and it couldn't wait.

It was already dark outside by the time Jeongin finished decorating the whole apartment he shared with his girlfriend. After spending a whole hour of shopping for gifts and DIY kits, and three straight hours of transforming their little home into an Instgram-able themed area, it was an understatement that he was tired.

Just as he was taking a short break, he heard the front door open, making him bolt to the living room.

There, he saw (Y/N), looking all snuggly and warm in her beige coat, white hoodie and pants. She was holding a bag of food, and was just about to take off her shoes when she looked up and saw Jeongin standing in the middle of the hallway looking like a dork.

She giggled softly. "What are you doing there?"

For some reason, Jeongin felt that her smile wasn't genuine, and there was an underlying sadness covered up by the corners of her mouth. "Nothing," he replied. "I missed you."

"Really?" she has already taken off her footwear and didn't sound convinced by his last statement. "I missed you too. Look, I bought some chicken and cola. Let's eat!"

After they finished dinner, Jeongin took (Y/N) to her surprise, which was actually their bedroom. There, he put up fairy lights and do-it-yourself paper flowers hanging from the ceiling, with printed out pictures of them pasted on the strings. He also gave her a large brown bear, and although (Y/N) sputtered out nothing but gratitude and other positive things, her smile didn't reach her eyes. However, Jeongin was the least bit happy when he saw a joyful glint in her eyes. But he also cannot shake off the bad feeling of (Y/N) already knowing his little secret.

The next day, Jeongin came to their designated practice room looking all disheveled. And when he reached the venue, he was greeted by the weird looks his hyungs were giving him. Jisung was the first one to approach him.

"Jeongin, why didn't you tell (Y/N) the truth?"

He bit the inside of his cheek and started to explain. "I swear, I was going to tell her. But she either kept insisting that she was busy, or she cuts me off every time I speak. She always diverts the topic to a new subject to make me forget about what I was gonna say to her."

"Jeongin," this time it was Chan who talked. "We'd gladly let you off the hook, but it's (Y/N) we're talking about. She called Hyunjin earlier and asked if he can come over to her place to talk. I'm guessing it's about what Jisung told us."

"Hyung!" Jeongin was about to scold his older friend, but Hyunjin stopped him.

"Jeongin, you have to tell (Y/N) everything. Do you have any idea how she cried to me, saying that she feels so insecure and how she's so scared about you leaving her because she feels like she's not enough for you?"

"I...I'm making her feel that way?"

Hyunjin nodded, and Jeongin felt his heart crack. He had no idea that she felt that way, and that he never even talked to her about it. He suddenly felt like a bad boyfriend.
