[Thanks for reading! I felt like there needed to be more AC one shots out there. Enjoy!]

A start:

Only four more days until my leap of faith to becoming a master assassin. And I'm excited!

Each day for the past YEARS I've worked hard... very hard. Up at dawn: train, After lunch: train, and up until dinner: train.

Of course there would be times for breaks or I'd take a day off here or there after missions- and I know this upcoming day is definitely deserved. I just hope something doesn't happen....

"Y/N!" I heard a small crack, as my body fell to the ground with a thump. My ankle throbbed.

Shit. Guess I spoke too soon. [how ironic right]

"Y/N! Are you okay!?" My close friend Leah ran over helping me up.

"I'm fine!"

"What about your ankle?"

"It's only a sprain! That can't stop me!" Tears threatened to fall, either because of the pain or the fact I knew it wasn't a sprain.

"Don't be so stubborn!"

"It's only a sprai-"

/snap/

"Y/N!!!!!!" My friends voice was close- but only darkness was visible...

"Y/N! Y/N!" Oh my gosh what do I do!? She won't wake up! She has to! Out of everyone here she's one of the best that's going to graduate. Y/n's not gonna be happy, "please wake up!" I shook her. Okay um how about I just take her to the medical area. She's pretty skinny so this should work. Attempting to pick y/n up I realized she's too heavy for someone like me.

"Let me take her." A harsh voice sounded above. There stood Altair Ibn'la'ahad. THE Altair. Holy crap. I mean I've seen him watch her train many times- "did you hear me?"

"Oh- um yes, I did... But I doubt it's worth your trouble."

"Is there anyone else around to help?"

"Uhh no-"

"Then let me take her."

"No." I stood my ground. I'm not leaving my best friend in the hands of someone I don't know. Even if he some grand master assassin person.

"Move." He came closer.

"Fine." I growled moving away, "but I'm coming with you."

Why did that friend of y/n's have to be so stubborn. Y/n just fractured her ankle and this girl arguing with me about what to do with her.

"Be careful!" The annoying brat exclaimed.

"I am." I hissed. Y/n's very light, I expected her to have some weight- but there's none. Her face had turned pale- making her a lot more beautiful than she normally is.

She probably won't be happy about her injury, especially with her skill and how hard she works. And I admire that. It's what attracted me to her in the first place. Only problem is, we've never gotten to converse much...

"You should go back and train. I'll stay and make sure she's fine." I stopped and turned in front of the door to the medical wing.

"No! I can't leave her!"

"Are you going against my orders!?"

"No... Um but I-"

"I will stay with her until she's fine."

"Okay." She turned to leave,

"I promise you that when her ankles healed I'll reteach her anything she needs."

"Thanks." With one last concerned glare, y/n's friend ran off. Finally she's gone.

What happened? I jerked up in a sitting position from whatever I was laying on. Obviously a bed but- then it hit me. I'm in the medical wing cause of my ankle and Leah was freaking out.

"Y/n, you're awake... How are you feeling?" A hand fell on my shoulder, only for me to realize this must've been the person who brought me.

"Altair?" Why would he of all people be here!?

"Mhmm."

"Why? Why are you here? What happened?"

"You were hurt. And I brought you to the medical wing. Leah tried to help but I took over."

"Thanks. Where is Leah?!"

"She's on her way to take her leap of faith."

"That's today..." I sighed depressively.

"Don't worry, when you're better and are able to, you're being allowed to take it."

"That's good." I felt relief rush over me. I was so worried I'd have to wait awhile, "wait so I've been out for four days?"

"Yes. We already put your ankle back into place and as you can see the cast is on."

"Well at least it was probably easier with me being out." I laughed awkwardly. I don't know Altair very well except for our short encounters... And that was enough for me to start liking him, "so um when do you think I can get back to training or-"

"Don't even think about it. At least wait a month before you start basic training again. So wait a few months before you start planning your leap."

"WHAT? That'll take forever!"

"I know. But don't get worked up over it and just think about getting better. The last thing you want is your ankle to get worse."

"Yeah." Altair stood up and sat on my bed besides me.

"I'm sorry that, that happened right before..."

"It's not your fault."

"It's not, but I hate seeing someone I feel strongly for hurt." What? I've never seen him this nice. He's always seemed so emotionless...

"What are you saying?"

"I don't know how to say it... But here-"

I didn't expect the grand master assassin's lips to be on mine. Not at all! Altair cupped my face, pushing me down on the bed, climbing over me. His lips were surprisingly soft, but still rough. I kissed back not sure what to do.

Putting my hands to his chest I softly pushed signaling him to stop.

He pulled away and stared at me-

"I-I'm sorry..."

"Don't be." I giggled, "I like you too."

"I'm glad my point came across." Was he blushing!?

"Yeah it did." I wrapped my arms around him, and he did the same, "I wanna go outside..."

"No."

-a few months later-

"You ready?" I stood at the edge of a building overlooking a bail of hay at the bottom, next to Altair.

"I think so." Taking a deep breath I shut my eyes, focusing on my leap.

"Don't worry, you're ready for this." His hand was on my lower back, and he pulled me in for a small kiss, "I'll go first and meet you at the bottom."

"Okay." Nodding I took a step back. Squeezing my eyes shut, I didn't pay attention to Altair leaving.

Slowly opening my eyes, I sucked in a breath.

This is it.
