We arrived at the capital of Fairoh kingdom later than I expected. It is not that we were obstructed by bandits or wild animals. Heiden seemed to stop more frequent. It made me wonder what is going on in his mind.

I bit my lip and let out a frustrating sigh.

Heiden is predictable if basing him from the story but sometimes, he is not.

Just like when we were at the outskirts of this kingdom, we rented one of the extravagant inns at the capital. Hindi kagaya roon ay talagang makikita ang pagkakaiba ng itaas at ibaba ng kaharian ng Fairoh. Their caste system is obvious, pretty well normal.

Heiden is down at the entrance when I noticed him as I was planning to go out with my companions. It is night and I heard that the capital of this kingdom is more lively especially at night.

Festivals everyday. How flamboyant.

“Are you going out, too?” Pansin ko sa kanya.

He is wearing a common outfit for commoners. Trousers and a polo. Wearing it in an elegant way makes him give out a fresh vibe.

I swoon in disappointment.

His level of handsomeness is not something to laugh at, huh? I admit I have hated him for looking down at me like a bug but I cannot deny how good-looking he is.

I clicked my tongue.

What is that? Is he that arrogant because of his blessed face and body? Rionsky is more divine.

“Mind your own business.” He snorted. Hindi niya ako tinapunan ng tingin. Tumaas ang aking kilay.

“Oh, right.” Sarkastiko ko. I rolled my eyes and turned my back at him. Davidron opened the door.

“Come back before midnight.” Heiden said before I was about to go out.

“You do not have to tell me. I can handle myself.” Ani ko nang hindi tumingin pabalik sa kanya.

“Bring some of my knights.”

“You will be in trouble if you keep thinking that I am a damsel in distress. Then...” Pilit akong ngumiti. I showed him a meaningful smile. My eyes squinted. “...do be careful.” Ngisi ko. His brows knotted. Inirapan niya ako at suminghal. My lips pursed when he forced my companions to give way for him to pass through the door going outside. Napasinghal na lang ako nang wala na siya. Davidron and Hilda did not seem to mind it. I clicked my tongue again.

My mood worsened.

Nang makalapit na kami sa maraming mga tao ay tumigil ako. I glanced at the two.

“You ought to have fun yourselves, too.”

“My lady.” Hilda.

“Milady.” Davidron.

“Let us meet up here by midnight.” Kumurap ako at tinignan muli ang mga ilaw na nakaparada sa daan.

“Thank you, my lady.” Hilda nodded with a naughty smile. Suminghal lamang ako at tumalikod na.

I am not in such a mood to lurk around these place full of couples. How annoying.

“How about the duke, Milady?” Tanong ni Davidron. Tumigil ako.

That is right. There is also another person who is with me in this trip that will favor me whenever it is.

Binasa ko ang aking mga labi.

I totally forgot about Lorves. I wonder if things went well with Safira. He left Fairoh without saying goodbye to her. She must be mad at him.

My brows knotted.

Well, it is not like it is my business so I do not really care about it but they were so amusing to watch. They are just like a cat and a dog. Funny.

“Oh, leave him be.” I waved my hand without looking back.

Well, where should I spend my time now?

I pursed my lips. Ipinagpatuloy ko ang aking paglalakad habang iniikot ang aking paningin sa maingay na paligid,

“Sa magandang dalaga riyan, baka gusto mo ng isang magandang kwintas na babagay sa iyo.” Sigaw sa akin ng isang tindero. Hindi ko na lamang pinansin ang mga tawag sa akin ng iba.

I spent time lurking around the center of Alvena kingdom. I went to the deep part of the woods as I began to be bored. Mas lalong lumiwanag ang ilaw ng buwan. Nang tumaas ang tingin kong muli ay binati muli ako ng nang-aakit na buwan. I got the urge to go up so I climbed the tallest tree around my scope. I finally relaxed with my back as I stare at the ephemeral scenery when I heard voices. It sounded familiar so I looked down. Tumabingi ako nang makita kung sino ang mga naroon.

My senses never fails me. I can still hear them from a little far above.

I rested my face in my hand. Sumingkit ang aking mga mata habang dinidinig ang kanilang usapin.

“---are you here?” It was Lorves. He is talking with Rionsky.

“Huh? Do I need a reason to be here? Are you my adviser?” Rionsky crossed his arms. The side of my lips rose as I watch him.

Adorable as always.

“Your Highness, your absence is a dire situation in the kingdom. Lalo na at hindi lang ang pangalawang prinsipe ang kasama rito.” Lorves argued.

“Estavio is there.” The other shrugged. He snorted.

“Even so, what if the king requests for your presence?” Bumuntong-hininga si Lorves. He face-palmed. “Wait, Your Highness, did you even got a permission from the king to go somewhere?” He doubted.

“I am not a kid.” Sagot na lang ni Rionsky. He averted his gaze and crossed his arms. I mentally chuckled.

“So you didn’t. Why is a prince sneaking out?”

“Stop the nonsense. This is also spying on Heiden.”

“Reasons.” Lorves snorted.

“So your ulterior motive is to follow Arisia.” He blankly looked at Rionsky.

“W-What?! Hindi ko sinabi iyan.” Rionsky’s eyes widened. Umawang ang mga labi nito at pumula ang mga pisngi. Sumingkit ang mga mata sa kanya ni Lorves. Not believing him. “I told you, it’s not like that!” Angal muli nito.

“Then you don’t have to worry, Your Highness. Spying on the second prince’s movements is a part of my duty as your knight. You can go back without worries.” Lorves nodded.

“No.” Ilang mga segundo bago nakasagot.

“I will also protect Arisia.”

“S-Still.” He snorted.

“Are you perhaps jealous, Your Highness?” Lorves asked. Tumabingi pa siya.

“Jealous? Me? Definitely not!” Pagtaas ng boses ni Rionsky. Hindi nawala ang ngisi sa aking mukha.

So obvious. How adorable.

“What if Arisia hears about that?”

“Fine, I guess a little.” Rionsky blinked a few times. “I-I am just worried! Heiden might go for her! Arisia does not even have feelings for me.” Dalawang beses akong napakurap at lumunok.

So that is what he is thinking, huh?

“Did you ask her?”

“I do not have the courage to.” He proudly smirked, giving his embarrassing retort.

“Why? You’re a prince.”

“Die.” He glared at Lorves. Kinunotan lamang siya ng kilay ng isa. “You don’t understand. Why don’t you try asking a lady of that? Narinig kong pinupusuan ka raw ng isang babaeng magpapanday sa Lodia.” He smirked and scoffed.

“That is that. It is a different matter.” My lips formed a grim line.

Lorves is not denying it so I guess he likes Safira, too?

“Anyway, I am just lending you a hand in watching Heiden’s movements. You should be grateful.” Rionsky shrugged.

“Well, I can’t ask you to go back since you are persistent in chasing wolves around Arisia.” Lorves sighed. Napakamot siya sa kanyang buhok at umiling. Under his eyes showed dark bags.

It will be better for him if he loosen up a bit. Nandito rin naman si Rionsky kaya maaari siyang hindi muna ako protektahan. They did not have time to talk with each other since Rionsky followed the trail, I guess? This must be just a free time of Lorves to be hanging out with him.

“I-I told you, it’s not like that.” Rionsky stuttered. “You should go back. Just report whenever you have reports.” He clicked his tongue.

“Please be careful not to expose yourself to the second prince.” Lorves retorted before bowing. He left without a sound. Bumaba ang tingin ko kay Rionsky na mag-isa. His arms are still crossed. Bumuntong-hininga siya at umupo sa sandalan ng puno.

“I just can’t let my guard down. Who knows if he have feelings for her? Even Heiden.” He pouted and snorted, His foot continuously tapped in frustration. I pursed my lips. Napaiwas ako ng tingin. Ramdam ko ang pag-iinit ng aking mukha. “This is frustrating.” He mumbled. Ilang beses akong napakurap. I did not realized I was holding my breath. Nang tumingin ulit ako sa ibaba ay paalis na siya. I let out a relieved sigh.

Wait.

Napatabingi ako.

Why am I relieved? Am I embarrassed to see him talk about me like that?

Suminghal ako.

No way.

Umiling na lamang ako. Tumalon na ako sa ibaba at naglakad papunta sa direksiyon na pinuntahan ni Rionsky.

I should find him and tease him to complete my day.

Napatango ako.

Yes. There is no need to be embarrassed and conscious about earlier.

A deep breath. My legs continued to walk until I found a small light. It was a cliff with a view of the breathtaking moon.

I will just continue staying here until the quarter before midnight. Finding Rionsky will be postponed tomorrow. I have changed my mind. Not because I was embarrassed or conscious. I am not just in the mood, that is all.

Umupo ako. I hugged my knees. Ipinatong ko ang aking ulo sa aking tuhod. The image of him crossed my mind. Napapikit ako sa aking naisip. Uminit muli ang aking mga pisngi.

A good choice. I should just see him tomorrow. Baka kapag nakita ako ay mas lalo siyang mahiya sa mga nangyari kanina. It is not like he saw me but he might be reminded of it.

Kumunot ang aking noo.

Is that not just what I want?

A sigh.

I do not know what is going on with my mind. I must be feeling tired.

The whistling of the wind and rustling of the bushes. Agad akong tumingin sa aking likod. A familiar build and that beastly look. My lips formed a grim line.

“What are you doing here?” Tumayo ako sa aking pagkakasabi.

“Why not? Is this your place?” Tinaas niya ang kanyang kilay sa akin. “You should go back. It is dangerous to lurk at night without guards.”

“You are right. I am going back. My mood is worsening.” Kunot-noo kong sagot. I gave him a glare as my dreamed night broke. I took a step. The next thing I knew, I was about to fall. Bumalik ako sa reyalidad nang kuhanin niya ang aking kamay at hinigpitan ang pagkakahawak. His arms encircled around my waist. Napalunok ako at napatingin sa ibaba. The broken ground fell by pieces.

I would have not survived if it were not for this man, I do not want to admit but it is a fact.

“You damned vixen. Don’t go causing trouble.” As usual, a cold look from him. I immediately removed his hands away from me. Lumayo ako at tumayo malayo sa bangin.

Why did the cliff suddenly became fragile? The timing sucks, is it not? It is not like I am a female lead to be saved.

“Why did you save me?” Pinagkrus ko ang aking mga braso. “Heiden?”

“Do I need a damn reason to save someone in trouble in front of me?” I glared at him.

What is with him?

“Do not be like this.” Angal ko.

“Why should I not save my fiancee?” He sarcastically said.

“This is so not you. If you are doing this to gain the favor of the king, then leave me alone.” Irap ko. I turned my back. “I will not thank you for saving me since I did not ask for your help.”

“Ungrateful.” I heard him before I left. I continued walking until I saw the path to the lights lining up to the festival. Napatigil lang ako nang makita ko ang isang pamilyar na pigura. He is leaning on the tree with his arms folded, as if waiting for someone. Kumunot ang noo ko rito at lumapit.

“Rionsky?” He turned to me. A mean look in his eyes. “Why are you here? Heiden might see you.” Napatingin pa ako sa likod.

“You, too. Why are you still strolling out here? It is dangerous.” Aniya. His face darkened. His red eyes shined bright and his green hair swayed as if fighting with the soft wind.

“Why do you look angry? May nangyari ba?” Tumabingi ako.

“You almost fell off the cliff.” Humarap siya sa akin.

“You saw that.” I sighed.

“On top of that, Heiden went in first to save you.” Tumaas ang aking kilay sa kanyang sinabi.

“Are you jealo---” Hindi ako pinatapos. Sa isang iglap ay magkalapat na ang aming mga labi. My heart skipped a beat. It was just for a second that our lips touched against each other. Lumayo din siya at tinanggal ang kamay mula sa likod ng aking ulo. “W-What was that for?” Uminit ang aking mga pisngi. I pursed my lips. Tumikhim ako at hindi naiwasang mapaiwas ng tingin.

“I am jealous. I also want to hold you in my arms.” He smirked. A dangerous and a seductive one. Napakagat ako sa aking ibabang labi.

This is a crime. He is a crime. I think I may have really forgotten how to breathe.
