Crushes

You had been on Neverland for a while. You'd never meant to stumble across the island either. You were at the park, sneaking out of your foster home when you were taken. The foster system never really let you out that much. Your top priority was to find your parents, wherever they may be.

It was approximately midnight when you heard something behind you. You thought it was your foster mom coming to take you back, but then you felt a sharp blow to the head, and then nothing.

When you woke up, you were on a beach. In front of you was what looked like miles of ocean and behind you, miles of forest. You were scared and felt kind of hopeless, for you had absolutely no clue where you were.

Then, you heard something from beyond the trees. A flute? You honestly thought you were imagining things, but you decided to follow the noise anyway.

The noise led you to what looked like some sort of campsite. A bunch of boys in cloaks and raggedy clothing were dancing around a campfire. A boy was in the middle of them playing a panflute.

'that must have been the flute noise I was hearing' you thought to yourself.

You tried to be quiet so they wouldn't hear you but being your clumsy ass, you tripped and got the attention of all the boys. In a panic, you stood up and ran. You had no clue if they would try to hurt you, or worse.

All of a sudden, a boy appeared in front of you, like, out of thin air. The boy that was playing the pipes, you realized. He noticed the fear in your face and gestured for the boys around him to surrender.

"What's your name love?" he asked you with a cute British accent. This boy now standing closer to you was actually quite attractive. He had these pretty emerald green eyes and shaggy light brown hair. He wore odd clothing you couldn't quite describe.

"Who are you?" you ask him, worried that you shouldn't give him your information before finding out who he was.

"I asked you first," he responded.

"Y/N. Now you. Who are you? Where am I?" you start shouting nervously.

"Woah, Woah, calm down. My name is Peter, Peter Pan. And this here is Neverland."

And since then, You've stayed. You have asked Peter many times when he will let you go home, but he always answered the same. "Nobody leaves Neverland Y/N. Not without my permission."

You still wanted to find your parents, but for now, you felt at home. Peter Pan's lost boys have all accepted you as your own, and they surprisingly didn't treat you much differently for being a girl, which you were happy about. You had your own tent and trained with the boys every day. You felt like you belonged here. You may have even developed a little crush on Peter, but you would never tell him that. He would probably laugh in your face if he knew. He was supposed to be the bad guy, but he didn't really seem like it at all. He just seemed like a boy who cared about making his lost feel found. For some reason, something about him pulled you in, something about him was intriguing, like there was more to him than meets the eye.

You sat on a log near the fire while all the boys danced and sung and enjoyed the night. You weren't really in the mood for dancing. You were thinking about home and finding your parents again. You knew you couldn't find them on this island, but Pan wasn't going to let you leave.

You walked away from the fire and into the woods for a bit for a breath and some alone time. You knew the woods were dangerous and you still didn't know them that well, but you weren't gonna go far. You just wanted to get away for a bit.

You stood, leaning against a tree trunk when you heard someone approach you from behind.

"Peter?" you said assuming he was the one who followed you.

"What are you doing all the way out here Y/N?" he asked you softly.

"Nothing. Just thinking," you responded. You didn't really feel like talking about it, but knowing Pan, he would get it out of you eventually.

"About your parents?" he said almost reading your mind. You looked him in the eyes for a minute before answering him.

"Yeah, I just... I spent a long time searching for them, but I know I can't keep looking for them while I'm here on Neverland," you told him.

"Y/N, I'm sorry about your parents, but soon, you'll see what this island has to offer. Soon, you'll want to stay. Neverland is where you can go to leave all your problems behind. I hope that soon you will leave yours behind as well," he says to you. His eyes scan you for a few seconds before he speaks again. "Come back to the fire when your ready Y/N." he left a soft kiss on your cheek before walking back to the camp.

Maybe he was right. You might actually find a forever home here on Neverland. After he had done that, you surely wouldn't mind staying just a bit longer, but only time could tell.
