Her body is made of a light that basically has two forms: human and weapon. This allows Rose to change into a weapon (specifically gauntlets) at will. This also means that she doesn't possess the regular human organs since her body is a light projection of her consciousnesses. She still thinks and speaks, but she doesn't eat or bleed.
(Very similar to the gems in Steven Universe)
Although she does feel pain and can die.

Drawbacks: as we know, a weapon is totally useless without a meister to use it. So as long as she's fighting alone, she can't use her quirk. And since she lost her arm and leg, she can't change forms like she used to.

Backstory:
Her family immigrated from Cuba where there, a tradition of weapon-meister relationships were valued. Meister's fight and become great heros while their weapon partners are to protect them with their life.

About a year ago Rose screwed up and payed the price for it. Her parents kicked her out and she was shunned from the entire community. It was also the time where she lost her arm and leg but soon replaced them with her own automail
