6:00 am

I got up early because I remembered that there would be a new tenant today!

Actually, I woke up because of something next door.

Why would there be noises next door? No lives there.

I opened my door and saw some guys moving some boxes next door.

So the new tenant is moving next door? That would be interesting.

I showered and got ready.

6:58 am

I saw a familiar car pull up on our parking lot.

Hmm. Weird? It's so familiar but yet so strange.

I dismissed my thoughts when I heard the door shut.

I stepped into my kitchen to bake something.

I always loved baking.

I used to bake with my Grandmother when I was a kid.

I decided to bake my specialty: a chocolate cake!

8:00 am

That took longer than I expected.

I got my cake ready so I stepped outside and went next door.

I knocked on her door.

When it opened it shocked me.

"Lily?" I asked in shock.

"Oh, hey there Luke!" She replied.

Lily. My ex.

The one who cheated on me.

The one who I dreamt last night.

The one who caused my dreams to be crushed.

The one who broke my heart.

The one I left in my old town.

Now, she's back and she's my neighbor.

"Uh...Luke?" That snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah. Totally."

"Listen. I'm sorry."

"No need to apologize."

"No. I'm truly sorry for what I did. I wanted to have some fun but you didn't give me anything because you were too busy to do anything with me. So, I called Jake. I'm really sorry."

"No. It's alright. There's nothing for you to apologize. It was all a misunderstanding. Our relationship is a misunderstanding." I said that and walked away back to my apartment.

Why is she back?

I drifted to sleep.

7:00 pm

When I woke up, I checked my phone.

It had 3 missed calls.

It was from Belle.

Shit. I remember we have a date.

Well, a "date" with my friends.

I got up and showered.

8:00 pm

I was at Belle's door ready to knock.

Before I could do that, I heard my name getting called.

I turned around and faced Lily.

"What is it?" I snapped at her.

"No need to be angry at me Luke."

"Then, WHAT is it?"

"I want to know you again Luke."

"Oh please. Don't try that on me. I don't want you back in my life. You've already crushed my dreams. I don't want you crushing them again."

I turned around and knocked on the door.

It opened and in front of me was Belle who was absolutely beautiful.

She was wearing a black dress that cuts down to her knees.

"You look beautiful!"

"Thanks!"

"Ready to go?"

"Yup."

I took her hand and we went down leaving Lily standing in the hallway.

When we got to my car, it was silent.

Until she spoke.

"I heard what you were talking about outside my door."

"I'm sorry about that."

"No. It's ok. So... is that your ex?"

"Yes. We used to date in college."

"So, what happened?"

"She cheated on me. With my best friend."

"Oh. Sorry about that."

"It's fine. I like telling it because I've had that on my chest for five years now."

"If you say so. Where are we going by the way?"

"To a club. I think it's called Cocktail Palace or something like that."

She nodded and smiled.
