I smiled softly. "Yeah..." I felt like cloud 9 was dancing under my feet. Not even cloud 9, Heaven, the Moon herself. I was at such a turmoil with myself. I wanted to be home, I wanted to be helping my pack, but I deserved this.
These first few months were so detrimental to your bond, and I didn't want anything to happen between me and Seb. Not that anything would. Even now, I could feel it rumbling under my skin like an energy that would never die.
"I can tell." I smiled again.
"Has he told you yet? About his dad?"
His dad? I actually hadn't heard anything about his dad. I narrowed my eyes. "No?"
Reston scratched behind his ear, a nervous tick that he had. "Well. I am so sorry I brought it up, Bash."
"Tell me," I pushed.
Reston scoffed and shook his head, one eyebrow held up. "No ma'am, that is none of my business."
I sighed but ended up smiling. "I know we're not on great terms, but for what it's worth, I've missed you."
He returned a small smile and gave me a tight hug. "For what's it's worth... I missed you too. I almost came back but I knew our relationship would only get worse."
I hate that he was right. Res was always right. "I wanna train with you guys," I said randomly.
A large part of me felt terrible that I couldn't of done more at the attack. I wished I could have saved more, been faster, fought harder.
If I had just trained a little more...
"That can be arranged, I'm sure. I'll talk to Dylan," he smiled.
"Dylan?" The name sounded familiar but I didn't think I had actually met him.
Reston laughed. "Yes! Silva's pack trainer. Great man, terrible peace keeper," he added.
I thought about Marshall and wondered how he was doing. I wished I had a good way to contact him, but with everything going on, I could still feel the crazy air about the pack.
"He won't go easy on you," Reston poked.
"Well neither did the vampires."

I walked outside of Sebastian's cabin and looked up at the night sky, smiling to myself. There were so many stars out.
The strong scent of a campfire hit my nose and I felt my body become a reservoir of relaxation and peace.
Electricity shot through my body as Seb put a hand on my shoulder. "We just have to stop by the pack house first so I can drop off my paperwork as well as pick up some more clothes so you're not stuck wearing mine," he kissed the temple and then smiled against my forehead.
His breath fanned across my forehead as he whispered, "Although, I don't mind the view."
He moved quickly away from me and began taking his clothes off to shift. His shirt was first, and as he stripped I felt my eyes move to his waistline where the jasmine flowers dotted his skin like stars on a rope. So elegant, so... beautiful.
They traveled down his V-line and I could almost feel my mouth watering. How could someone be so attractive?
"Find something you like, Vivanco?" He asked, smirking.
I took a deep breath and nodded. "Maybe, is that a problem?" I took my shirt off and I watched Sebastian watch me.
He was trying to be a gentleman, but he couldn't help his eyes from wandering from the curves of my hips and the valley that peaked between my breasts.
He cleared his throat and turned away. "Keep teasing me and I'll be marking you."
Marking. Allowing your mate to see every part of you, your darkest secrets, your most vulnerable times. It left a mark on you neck, warning other wolves to stay away. It was a sacred thing amongst us, a binding pact.
"That sounds like the perfect date," I joked.
I took the rest of my clothes off and laid them in a pile on the ground. I shifted, the feeling no more than that which you feel when cracking your knuckles, or popping your back. It was almost comforting.
Seb had turned as well, and now his wolf was watching mine with severe determination. "Don't say something you don't mean, Quinn," he said.
I rolled my eyes and turned my back to him. "Maybe I meant it," I responded.
I took off, Seb trying to follow just as quickly as me. He tried to talk back but I drowned him out, focusing instead on the competition between us. This was a race, and at this point, I feared I was running in too many.
