I'm going to use a song from Bruno Mars just so you know. The lyrics aren't 100% accurate but for the most part they are.

Walking around the busy market place grabbing what I need, food, a new puzzle or two and so on. Whilst sitting on the fountain edge I throw some change into it. As I'm doing that I get knocked into, almost falling head first into the water. Luckily a person caught me before that happened. I let go of the breath that I was holding in and turn myself to look at the person who almost got me soaked. 

"A-Aaron?" I stutter as I look into the dark eyes of the man in front of me 

"I'm so sorry!" He says quickly looking down, he hasn't seen me yet. "Wait. (Y/n)?"

We both stare at each other before I speak

"Thanks for saving me. But then you did cause it" I chuckle 

"Yeah. Sorry about that" he replies scratching the back of his neck, "it's been a while since I've seen you" 

"I guess it has. But you know why" I smile sadly 

"It was a mistake!" He tries to reason

"We all know it wasn't. You meant to do it. You even tried to hide it from me. I only found out the night of Alex and Elizas wedding, and that was because you were telling them how much you wanted to be with her!" I say loudly making people nearby move away from us 

He stays silent

"Just like the night I confronted you about it" I shake my head, "you can't say a word"

"You want the truth" he asks

I nod my head and cross my arms, this is gonna be good.

"At the time I did like her more than you" he starts, I scoff and start grabbing my stuff, "but now I realise that you were and are so much better than Theodosia!" He exclaimed grabbing my arm to stop me from leaving 

"I thought you were the one Aaron" I sigh looking back at him, "but I was wrong. I've found someone who loves me. And only me" I emphasise the last sentence 

I push my way past him and start walking home.

"I was too young, too dumb to realise that I should have bought you flowers!" He calls after me 

I stop walking but I don't turn to face him.

"I should have held your hand" he continues as he makes his way over to me and taking my hands in his.

"I should've  gave you all my hours. When I had the chance" he says sadly looking at our hands 

Tears start to form in my eyes but they don't spill over.

"I really miss you (y/n). I regret what I did to you. I just wish that I could be with you again. But I messed it up" he finishes taking his hands out of mine.

I bite my lip, "you missed your chance Aaron. But from what I just heard, you now know how to treat a women better than how you treated me. So go out there and find yourself a women. She's out there" I smile sympathicly.

I pick up my bags and give him a small kiss on the cheek before I leave him standing alone in the town centre. 

"Goodbye Burr" I wave to the defeated looking man

He waves back and then walks in the opposite direction kicking a few stones in the path.

We all make mistakes. It's how we learns from them that matters.

And I think  Aaron has learnt.
