[[ ---Cesare's POV--- ]]

I woke up in the greatest mood ever.

As I got ready to go to a board meeting with the new construction crew for my next project I couldn't help but feel like I was in one of those happy and romantic music videos.

The ones that depict the boy and girl so in love and blissfully ignorant to what's going on around them, but nothing else matters as long as they have each other.

I went for a more relaxed and casual look as I planned on meeting up with Evalina after the meeting.

I pulled out my cellphone to text her good morning, but as I pulled open my contacts I suddenly realized that I didn't actually get her number last night.

I frowned a bit but placed my phone back in my pocket, making a mental note to get her phone number the first chance I got.

I decided to skip breakfast and head straight over to the meeting, I knew once I arrived it would start and the sooner it starts, the sooner it will end and I will be free to spend some much need quality time with my  precious little mate.

As I walked into my company's board room I found my assistant setting up the boards showing the various charts and the pictures my team had sketched up to show the developers what the new luxury condos should look like.

"Good morning Mr Minicci." Fran, my receptionist greeted me a bit too warmly. "Can I do anything for you sir?"

I ignored her double meaning and refused to look down at her. I knew she would be wearing yet another dress that was two sizes too small and would make her bust spill out of the top and show off too much leg. "Bring me a coffee and have my messages placed on my desk, and lastly inform everyone that the meeting is fixing to start..." I looked down at my watch, "in three minutes, I will not accept tardiness."

"Yes sir." She squealed before dashing away.

I took my seat at the head of the large table and watched in silence as my team began filling The conference room professionally.

The meeting began. My Architects, the developers and even my suppliers were all in the meeting. "These condominiums are going to bring in a lot of money to the company, as well as open up multiple jobs for the community, this project is too import to have anything out of place." I stated before my lead Architect stood and began his presentation.

Fran snuck in and delivered my coffee, she tried to stay in the room but I gave her a sharp look and she left just as quickly as she entered.

Two hours later the meeting was called to a close and i felt confident in going ahead with this project.

I went into my office and collected my messages as well as my laptop, with Evalina here I knew I wouldn't be coming into the office nearly as much as I'm used to. I locked up my office and then stopped by Fran's desk, "I will be out all weekend, do not call me unless the company is losing money, everything else can wait until Monday otherwise have everyone email me."

She nodded and I went on my way.

I placed my bag in the back seat and got myself in, as I was readying the car to take off I suddenly realized that if I just showed up at the De Laurentis house I could possibly run into Gianna, not that I cared. But it would be awkward for Evalina, plus I didn't exactly have a reason to go over and take her out if Gianna or her mother ask.

I had to think of something, I went ahead and began driving, unfortunately I couldn't come up with anything and ended up just driving to my parents house.

"Hello son." My mother smiled. She pulled me into a tight hug and led me into the kitchen. "Let me get you something to eat." She insisted.

I knew there was no point in arguing or protesting so I simply took a seat on one of the bar stools and waited.

"Here, have a turkey sandwich." She finally said as she handed me a plate. "I had so much food left over from yesterday I would hate for it to go to waste."

"I'm sorry if the evening didn't go as planned." I said.

She hushed me with a wave of her hand as she went about putting the remnants of the leftovers back into the refrigerator. "It was lovely finally meeting Evalina, especially after hearing so much about her."

I couldn't help but smile, "mom cut the bull, we both know that you figured out that Evalina's my mate."

She turned and had her own sly smile on her face, "I never said otherwise, nor was I pretending to act dumb, I like her." She stated, "she speaks her mind and doesn't hold back no matter who she's talking to."

I knew she was referring to the conversation over dinner last night with my father. Most people would merely tell him what they think he wants to hear or simply go along with his opinion, not Evalina.

"Speaking of Evalina," my mother continued, "her desserts were beyond delicious, and unfortunately she left her platters here..." She smiled knowingly, "Cesare son, would you be a dear and run them over to the De Laurentis house, I wouldn't want them to forget about their dishes after the debacle yesterday...such fine glass."

I knew what my mother was doing.

Ever the matchmaking romantic, my mother was doing everything in her will to get Evalina and I to spend even the smallest amount of time together.

"Yes ma'am, I should do that right now actually." I said as I got up from the bar stool, "you know, before I forget."

She nodded, "perhaps she would like a formal tour of the town." She suggested.

I nodded, "I'm sure she'd love that."

I picked up the glass platters and head toward my car, I placed them both on the floor of my car so they wouldn't slide around too much and get ruined. I made my way over to her mother's house and was filled with relief when I didn't see Gianna's car there.

I got off the car and grabbed the platters, I made my way past her mother's vehicle and then knocked on the front door.

It took a moment but Mrs De Laurentis finally opened the door. "Oh Cesare, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

I stood up right, I noticed that my familiar mates pull toward Evalina wasn't effecting me today.

"Oh I'm sorry to come unannounced, Evalina forgot to bring these back yesterday." I said as I held up the thick glass platters.

"Of course," she smiled, "would you mind setting them in the dining room, I've just painted my nails."

I nodded and entered the house, once I placed them on the dining room table I turned to find her still standing at the front door.

"Is Evalina home?" I asked, "I want to personally thank her for staying after and helping my mother last night, I figured the least I could do is give her a formal tour of our beloved town."

"How kind of you Cesare, and I'm sure Evalina would have gladly accepted your invitation" she smiled weakly, "but our Little Lina has gone back to school, no worries, she will be back for the Christmas break and I'm sure she will accept your kindness then."

I stood there a little unsure, I knew her explanation was a way of telling me that she isn't here so it's time for me to go.

I simply nodded, "have a good day Mrs De Laurentis."

She smiled and waved me out.

I got into my car and knew what I had to do. I pulled out my cellphone and pulled up my contact.

"Hey Luca" I smiled.

"Nephew, it's been too long!" My uncle stated happily, "what the hell are you calling me for?"

I chuckled, my uncle Luca is only a few years older than me and we grew up more like brothers than uncle and nephew, so of course he would call me on my bullshit.

"I'm coming to visit, I need your help with something."

"Oh, would this have anything to do with a girl?"

Once more I laughed, "you don't know how right you are."
