"Can you just tell me?" I groan. I'm actually enjoying the feeling of not knowing where I'm going. It's kind of exciting, pushing past the fact I could be on my way to get murdered.
"That would ruin the surprise" he smirks.
"So this is your opportunity to take me into the woods and kill me?" I ask playfully whilst trying to clear my paranoia.
He pretends to think, "I've thought about it but I'm not too good with murders"
"I'm thankful but concerned you know that" I frown.
"It's round this corner now" he says, turning left.
We continue walking for another fifteen seconds or so until I look up and see the tree house above me.
"Woah" I gasp. "Is this yours?"
"Partly. I share it with the boys" he shrugs. I wonder if Logan is one of the 'boys'. Has he ever been up here? "We made it when we were younger"
"Cool"
"You coming up?" he asks.
"I don't know. Is it safe?"
"Well I haven't tried it in a while" he pulls a face so I just shrug, taking the lead and climbing up the ladders. It's not that high so if it does collapse, I think I'd only come out with a broken leg or something.
When I climb the ladder, I pull myself up into the little wooden house and step inside it. I try not to think about the amount of spiders that are probably hibernating in here.
The house has got one hole in the wall which acts as a window. It also has some battery powered lights that have fallen down slightly but I'm guessing were supposed to be tied around the walls. The rest of the house just has a bunch of cups, cans, beanbag chairs, small deckchairs and a couple of tennis and footballs scattered around.
"This is well cool" I gasp in amazement.
"Told you" Reece smirks, sitting down on the beanbag.
I turn to him with a smirk, "So this is what you do; flirt with a girl then bring her up here to impress her?"
"Hey, you're the first girl I've brought up here" he raises his hands in defence, making me laugh. "Besides, why would I need to impress you? You seem pretty into me already" he winks.
He's so similar to Logan.
I choose to just roll my eyes and shake my head in amusement, unable to even think of a comeback because I'm so embarrassed.
"Don't worry, I'm into you too" he smirks. "Sit here" he says, patting the space on the beanbag next to him. He shuffles up slightly so I sit in the place he told me to, and turn to him. "If I ask you something, are you going to be completely honest with me?"
"Depends what it is" I shrug. I'm a pretty open book so I probably will tell him anything he needs to know.
"Is there anything going on with you and Logan? I don't just want to be somebody you use to get over him or something like that"
"Reece, there's nothing going on" I assure him. Do I tell him we've kissed? I don't want to bugger up my chances with him.
"You sure? I'd rather you just tell me now"
"I mean, we kissed a couple times but that was ages ago. There's nothing going on now. I wouldn't be here with you if there was" I sigh. Saying that kind of makes me upset that Logan and I are never going to have those moments again. It was more than just fun for me.
"Okay" he nods. "So Logan wouldn't be mad at me or anything?"
"No, course not. I told him we should stop ages ago and he agreed. We're just friends" I nod, trying to convince myself more than him. I mean, I'm not lying to Reece... I'm just exaggerating the circumstances between Logan and I.
"Right" he says, smiling slightly.
"Your turn now. Is there any girls I should know about? You were saying about this relationship you just came out of. Are you over it?" I throw the questions at him. I'll chop of his balls if he uses me as a rebound.
"Definitely not. She doesn't even live around here so I never see her. There are no other girls" he tells me, looking into my eyes. "Only you"
I bite my lip to hold back my smile and look down at the small space between us.
"Today's been cool" he smirks. It really has been. We've not done much but getting to know so much about him has actually really intrigued me and made today so good.
"Yeah, I've had fun" I nod with a smile.
"Best first date of my life" he smiles.
"Who said it was a date?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Well I like you, you like me, we're spending time together, so it's technically a date" he shrugs teasingly.
"I never said I liked you"
"I can just tell"
"How?" I raise my eyebrows. My stomach's erupting with butterflies at the moment, especially when he brings up his hand to tuck a bit of my hair behind my ear.
"Well for starters, I've made you blush about ten times today" he smiles, making my cheeks burn. Oh there we go, I'm blushing because he said he made me blush. Wow Megan... "There it is" he chuckles.
"Stop" I groan, leaning my head against his chest to hide my embarrassment, but I seem to just make things worse because of how close I've made us become.
"Sorry, you look cute when you blush" he smirks. I let out a small huff and raise an eyebrow at him. That's what Logan says...
For god's sake, I've got to stop thinking about freaking Logan. Nothing's ever going to come out of it, and Reece is sat right next to me. Why the hell am I holding onto the small hope of Logan and I being together? We're just friends.
Without thinking, I pull Reece towards me and crash my lips onto his. He responds immediately, pulling me on top of him so I'm straddling his waist. I push Logan to the back of my mind and concentrate on the kiss I'm having with my potential boyfriend. I do want this with Reece, don't I?
He's absolutely gorgeous and so lovely. I've had an amazing day today so I don't know why I have doubts about this. We have a lot in common so I genuinely think this could work. It's not like anything's going to come out of Logan and I anyway.
It's Reece who pulls away from the kiss first but doesn't make any attempt to remove me from his lap. I smile slightly at him and he smirks.
"Guess this means you're my girlfriend now, huh?" he smirks and I roll my eyes.
"If that's your attempt of asking me out, then no"
"What? How come?" he frowns.
"I expect something more... I don't know, creative" I smirk and he groans.
"Megan, d'you wanna be my girlfriend?" he raises an eyebrow. "That's the best I've got"
"Fine" I sigh. He starts laughing and pulls me in for another kiss. I pull away after a bit and smile before noticing something behind him.
"Spider" I squeal, jumping off his lap in panic. Jesus Christ, it's huge. Stay calm, Megan. Stay calm.
"Shoot, get out" Reece panics so I quickly bolt for the doors.
"A big guy like you is scared of a spider?" I roll my head back in laughter as I climb down the ladder.
"Shut the hell up, Megan. I won't hesitate to plant it on your shoulder" he threats.
"I'd like to see you try" I laugh, jumping off the ladder once I'm at the bottom. He does the same and we make our way back to the car and start the drive back to mine.
"Thanks for today, it's been really good" I smile as we pull up to my house.
"No problem, thanks for coming" he returns the smile before leaning in to kiss me. I smile into the kiss before pulling away after a minute or so.
"I'll see you later. Call me or something" I smile, opening the car door and hopping out.
"I will do, see you" he nods.
