It had been about a week and a half since Lucas opening up to me about his father. Lucas now takes Zoe to school in the mornings and has slowly started showing up to random classes throughout the day, classes he can tolerate.

I still go over to their house every other day or so to try and help out, Julia is quiet now. She goes to work sometimes so on those days I babysit Zoe but she often has been calling in saying she is staying home again.

"Come over tonight" Lucas said to the group at lunch "who?" Farkle asked confused by his sudden invitation "all of us. Let's have a movie night or some shit" Lucas replied. "I'll come" Riley smoked, everyone was being extra nice to him and I know he could tell.

"Great" lucas smiled. Everyone busied themselves in their own conversations, I turned to Lucas "are you ready to have everyone over?" I ask quietly. He gives a small reassuring nod "I'll be okay" he replied.

Later that night we one by one showed up at Lucas' house. Riley and I happened to be last, bringing the most snacks with us. "What took you guys so long?" Zay whined once we came through the door "because we stopped off to make sure you had sour gummy worms" I pouted, chucking the bag at him.

His eyes lit up as he saw the bag fly over to him, ripping it open and pulling out a pink and blue worm. Riley and I sat down on the couch together in between Lucas and Farkle. Zach laid on a air mattress they had placed in front of the couch and Isadora and Sofia lay beside him. Zay sat on the arm chair beside the couch, his legs dangling over the side.

"What we watching?" I ask the group "please not a horror I swear we always watch horrors like every time" Riley cried from beside me "too bad Riley! We're watching insidious 4" Sofia laughed as she clicked play on the movie. Riley huffed from beside me, Farkles arm grew across her shoulders holding her close to him.

"Where's Zo?" I whispered to Lucas about 10 minutes into the movie "she's in her room playing with some dolls. Moms upstairs too" he whispered back, a small smile planted on his face. I nodded, turning back to the movie. A small kiss was placed on my cheek before he quickly sat back before anyone noticed

My eyes shot to his, a smirk laid across his face proudly. I rolled my eyes in a joking manner "omg something's gonna happen I can tell" Riley squeaked, pulling a blanket up over her eyes. We chuckled at her reaction to the movie.

About another half an hour in I got up from my place on the couch. "I'm gonna go bathroom" I say, heading up the stairs to the bathroom. I twist the handle and try to push the door open. It shoves a little bit, something blocking it from the other side.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion "what" I mumble to myself. I shove the door a bit harder, it flying open and Julia lying on the floor. It takes me a few seconds to come to my senses, an empty pill bottle on the floor, pills dropped throughout the bathroom, a gash on her forehead and blood on the bath from where she hit her head

I gasped "AHHH!" I screamed from the bathroom, dropping down to her side. "GUYS CALL AN AMBULANCE" I scream again. Rushing footsteps can be heard making their way up the stairs, I glance up to see Lucas, a worried expression in his face and his friends close behind

They all reacted in a different way, gasping, covering their mouths. "Riley keep Zoe in her room. Did someone call an ambulance" I panic, focussing my attention back to Julia on the floor "Maya is there a pulse" Zach called from the other end of the hallway.

My shaky hand reached down to her neck, I used my two fingers to find a pulse "Yes she's alive tell them to hurry" I cry back. I turn Julia on her side to help her breathe, still unconscious.

My eyes shot to Lucas, crying on the floor, Sofia cradling him "Sofia get Lucas out of here" I insisted, not wanting him to see his dying mother after his parents divorcing a few days before

"Izzy what did she take" I rush. Isadora stepped into the bathroom, picking up the pill bottle "painkillers" She responded numbly "I need the first aid kit it should be in there" I reply. I turn back to Julia, pulling her hair out of her face careful to not infect the cut

Izzy drops down beside me opening up the first aid kit "she doesn't need CPR she's breathing" she panicked. I pulled out a big cloth, holding it to Julia's head "hold this" I advise izzy. She does what I say and I turn back to the kit

I pull out a syringe filled with Naloxone and pull the cap of it. I give Sofia a look which makes her turn to cover Lucas so he can't see the shot. "Lucas go downstairs" I repeat after him refusing to the first time. Without taking my eyes off Julia, I pushed the syringe into her upper arm, pushing down the other end and letting the medicine be released in her veins

"Naloxone will only help to try reverse the overdose for half an hour. Zach are an ambulance coming" I shout "yes they'll be here soon" he replied quickly. Everything around us was loud, we were all shouting at each other panicking. Luckily, I had attended a first aid response course to things like this.

I stay with Julia while she lies on her side, regularly checking her pulse "it's getting weaker! They need to hurry" I cry to Isadora, tears rolling down our face. Sirens slowly approached the house getting louder and louder as it got closer

Farkle rushed down to open the door, the ambulance response team rushing in. They headed up to Julia, lifting her slightly and placing her on a big stretcher. They placed an oxygen mask over her quickly, picking up the stretcher.

Isadora and I stood up too "what happened" the ambulance guy asked as he and a few other doctors carried it down the stairs, I followed them "overdose on painkillers. I've injected Naloxone into her system I-I don't know what else to do" I tell him quickly.

"Thank you ma'am. Make sure you follow us to the hospital when you can" he rushed, pulling the gurney into the ambulance and shutting the doors behind him. I went back inside the house, closing the door

"We..we probably should get going..we'll come to the hospital" my friends said, coming down the stairs. I nodded, not lying to much attention and headed up the stairs "you can go with the others" I mumble to Riley and Farkle who were in Zoe's room, Zoe looked almost clueless

They all left, I went back to the bathroom where Lucas lay in a fetal position crying. I dropped to his side pulling him up "Lucas! Lucas you have to listen to Me" I tell him, placing my hands on either side of his face to keep him looking at me

His eyes caught mine, looking lost and worried "we need to go to the hospital okay. I need you to get up and we need to take Zoe" I say slowly, pulling him up. He unwillingly moves "Zoe let's go" I call, halfway down the stairs

"Maya what happened?" She asked confused "I'll explain in the car just get in" I tell her. She runs off ahead, getting herself in the car. Lucas mopes round to his side getting in too. I hop in the drivers seat "Zoe. Seatbelt" I say, not even turning my attention to her

I pull the seatbelt round Lucas, sighing as I buckle it in. I turn on the ignition, reversing out the driveway and heading to the hospital. I explained to Zoe in a child friendly way that mommy took the wrong medicine and it made her sick and that were going to see her, she seemed to believe it
