She took a deep breath and nodded. "There are so many things I've never seen before. You're going to think I'm the dumbest creature on earth," she murmured.

"No, I won't. I know you're very smart. I'll tell you what, let's start with this room. What don't you recognize?"

She put her hands down on the bed we were sitting on.

"You didn't have a bed there?" She shook her head. "Ok, this is a bed. We sleep on it. If you don't mind, you'll sleep with me on this bed. I like to cuddle a lot. If you find that you don't like to sleep with me, then we'll fix you up another bed of your own," I said. "Is there anything else you don't know about?"

She pointed across the room and I told her, "That's a dresser. We keep clothing in it. Speaking of clothing, we need to get you some. Let me make a phone call really quick."

I called my favorite stylist and asked if she could drop by the dorm pretty soon. I told her I had a very important job for her to do for me this afternoon. She said she would be over shortly and I hung up.

"Anything else in this room?" I asked, my attention on her again.

"What's on the windows?"

I looked over to the window and then back at her, "The curtains? They're for blocking out the sun."

She looked at me quizzically, tipping her head to the side. "Why would anyone block out the sun?"

"I really don't know why we do it," I replied, chuckling. "I guess mostly so we can sleep in the dark during the daytime. I'll show you how to work the curtains, so if they're closed, you can open them."

I took her over and showed her how easy it was to open and close the curtains. She did it several times, pleased with her new skill.

She seemed more at ease already.

"Anything else?"

She nodded, "What am I supposed to call you?"

"Hmm, what do you want to call me?" I asked. To be honest, I just thought she would call me Jimin.

She thought about it for a few moments and said, "They told us where I lived that we were supposed to call our owners Master. Is that what you'd like to be called?"

I made a face and said, "I don't think I'm the Master type. How about you just call me Jimin or Jiminie?"

"Jimin... I could call you that if you want," she said, smiling for the first time since we got into the car earlier.

"Now for the most important question of the day," I said with a big smile, "What do you want me to call you?"

"I get to choose?" she asked, surprised when I nodded. She briefly thought about it. "I don't really know any names, except for the names of the people from Hybrid Heaven. But outside the window of our room, there was a garden with pretty red flowers all over the place. I could sit all day and watch those flowers dancing in the breeze. One of the girls that worked there told me the flowers were called poppies. So I guess if I get to choose my own name, I would choose Poppy."

"Poppy? I love it," I said, "It suits you. You will never be called number 134 ever again. From this moment on, you are Park Poppy."

Her ears stood taller than I'd ever seen them. Her tail was practically vibrating she was so excited. She closed her eyes and tipped her head back, clutching her hands together. "Oh Jimin, that was the best gift you could have ever given me! I'm not inventory anymore!"

She jumped into my arms and hugged me so hard I thought her little arms would break. Seeing her so happy made a warmth radiate throughout my chest. I hadn't felt this satisfied in a long time. It made me happy to make her happy. I leaned over and kissed her forehead.

She jumped out of my arms, her brows furrowed. She put her hand up to her forehead and squeaked, "What the heck was that?"

She looked like I had tried to eat her alive and it was both heartbreaking and cute at the same time.

"You don't know what a kiss is? No one ever kissed you before now?" I'll admit, this time I was confused and it embarrassed me to ask for an explanation. "But... you've been in heat before; you've mated before, right?"

She nodded, still rubbing her forehead. "What has that got to do with this? We definitely didn't do what you just did! They would just bend me over and take care of business."

How stupid am I? Of course, that's how it worked.

I pulled her closer and explained, "I'm sorry I startled you. I kissed your forehead. It's a form of affection. Someone might kiss your hand, or your cheek, or your forehead, or even your lips. It's something people do when they like or love each other. But the person has to be special to you. Don't just go around kissing strangers."

"Trust me; I won't," she said fiercely. "It felt like lightning shot through my entire body when you did that."

"Did it? Let's try one more time and see if it happens again," I said. Pulling her closer to me again, I kissed her forehead... and then her cheek... Her breath was shaky and erratic and, suddenly, I couldn't take my eyes off her lips. I knew I shouldn't want to kiss her like this; she was just supposed to be my companion.

What am I doing? Jimin, stop it!

But part of me didn't want to stop.

Thankfully, I heard the doorbell go off. Leaning my forehead against hers, I steadied myself and then gently pushed her away from me.

Smiling at her, I took her hand and said, "Come with me. That will be Hae at the door."
