Chapter 19

Iida walking around his house, straightening random things he had done so already a hundred times, and just looking for random things to do. He wasn't exactly agitated, he was just excited. Once they'd gotten the news from All Might that they were finally taking action and that they were going to get Midoriya back, he'd been pumped up. He could hardly stay still. If everything went well, then they'd have their friend back by the end of the day tomorrow, today being Saturday. But it was only 5. In about 4 hours the pro heros would be raiding the place. At the very least, they'd get clues on where Midoriya is, even if he isn't in that spot, which was always a possibility. But if they had a little bit of luck, they could get Midoriya back, and capture the League of Villains once and for all. He wondered how they would go about it. I should ask Aizawa Sensei  afterwards. This could be a valuable learning opportunity. He wanted to know exactly what was going on, but he knew he couldn't interfere. Even if his other classmates ran to the battle, he'd pledged that he was going to stay out of it. It wasn't his job. He was just a hero apprentice. He wasn't ready to face full fledged villains. He'd known that for a while.

Not being able to take his constant pacing anymore, Iida decided to to lay down. His mind was on overdrive thinking about what could possibly happen when the time came, and if everything would turn out okay.

"I need to be optimistic!" He yelled to himself. "I will go to sleep and by the time I wake up Midoriya will be safe!" He strode to his bedroom, and changed into his pajamas. It was uncivilized to sleep in normal clothes, even if it was this middle of the day. He neatly got into bed, pulling up the covers just below his shoulders like he always did. He closed his eyes tightly, and, being that kind of person, was asleep within a few moments..

When Iida opened his eyes, he felt a lot better than he had before. His mind was more clear and he could think better.

"Refreshing." He whispered. He reached over and grabbed his phone from his nightstand, checking the time. 11:30. "The raid might be over by now." He said. He hadn't really thought about how long it would take. Before he shut off his phone, he noticed that there were messages in the class group chat. He was surprised that were from only a few minutes ago. It was pretty late.

Kaminari: Can you guys sleep?

Mina: Nope.

Kirishima: it's impossible! I'm too worried!

Iida: I myself just took a wonderful nap.

Todoroki: Not helping Iida.

Aoyama: I need my beauty sleep.

Uraraka: What are you guys talking about at 11:30 at night?

Sero: What do you think we're talking about?

Jirou: how are any of us supposed to sleep when all of you keep texting?!

Mineta: I'll come into your room and comfort you if you want

Hagakure: ew stfu

Momo: We're not even in the dorms how would you even do that?

Uraraka: Did you guys even want to talk about anything? It's not like they're going to tell us what happened a couple of hours after they got him back.

Tokoyami: If they did find him.

Mina: C'mon don't be so depressing! I sure they found him.

Jirou: Yeah!

Aoyama: I'm going back to bed.

Iida: I shall do the same

Iida laid back down to continue to sleep for the rest of the night, when he got a single notification. He read the message from Uraraka that just read,

Uraraka: Do you think he'll be happy to see us?

Jirou: What do you mean? We're his friends.

Kaminari: yeah! Why wouldn't he want to see us?

Uraraka: Because we couldn't save him.

Nobody typed anything for a while after that, probably not knowing how to react. He had to console his friend. Why hadn't he noticed the kind of toll this was taking on her earlier?

Iida: Uraraka you should know better than anyone that Midoriya wouldn't care about something like that. You saw his face that night. He was just happy that we were there to be with him.

Uraraka: Yeah But we don't know what kind of stuff he went through! What if they did something to him?! What if he died, and we were the ones who couldn't hold onto him?!

Mina: Midoriya wouldn't die. I'm sure he's perfectly fine.

Todoroki: If Midoriya could see you right now you know what he would say right? He'd never want you to beat yourself up like this. I think you need sleep.

Iida: I agree.

Uraraka: How can I sleep?!

Todoroki: Sleep.

Iida: Sleep. Please.

Tokoyami: Sleep.

Mina: Sleep.

Kaminari: Sleep.

Jirou: Sleep.

Kirishima: SLEEP!

Uraraka: okay fine. I'll try to get some sleep.

Hagakure: Finally.

Uraraka: Good night, everyone.

Iida: Good night.

Todoroki: Night.
