"God damn it!" Todoroki replayed his own words in his mind as he walked through the night. It was a pretty long walk to his house from the police station, but he'd rather walk then confront his dad. Why was that all I could say? I should have done something. I'm his friend. Why didn't I play a bigger part in this? Todoroki thought. That whole thing had just been like a wiz of colors. One minute his friend was part of it, the next he wasn't. What had happened? So much had happened that he was having trouble putting it all into place. None of the pieces seemed to fit, but that was probably because he was missing half of them. He'd just come down the stairs and there was his friend, floating in the air with blood all over him. He hadn't really gotten an in depth explanation of everything that had happened. He'd just told the officers everything he'd known, which was almost nothing. All he knew was that the Midoriya that had gone to school was acting weird, and next second there was talk about the League of Villains and fakes. What was happening? The only people who really knew were Iida, Uraraka and Midoriya, and Midoriya was gone. His friend was being held up somewhere, injured and probably getting even more so, while he was just leisurely walking down the street like it was a normal Monday night. Why didn't I do something more? He'd asked himself that a hundred times, but he couldn't find an answer. There had always been those moments where someone is in mortal danger, but it always worked out. Someone always came to the rescue at the last moment. He'd gotten used to that. He'd gotten used to there always being someone there to help. Whether it was it was All Might or any other of his teachers or classmates. Even if it was himself protecting someone else, someone was always there to help. But there hadn't been that time. The class had been on their own. Nobody could do anything as Midoriya was pulled through that warp. They could only stare.

Suddenly, a voice shook him out of his thoughts and memories, and it was the last voice he wanted to hear that night.

"SHOUTO!"

His fathers voice rang through the quiet night air.

Crap

He turned around to see his father sticking his head out of the window of a cop car that was driving towards him. He groaned quietly. Hadn't he told him he was walking home? They weren't allowed back at the dorms until further notice because it was essentially a crime scene, which made sense, so he'd just started walking home after going to the police station. He just wanted to sleep and wait for the next day when they were supposed to get information about what was going to happen and about what happened in the first place. It was already 3 am.

The cop car pulled up next to him and his dad hopped out.

"Shouto! Why weren't you at the police station?" His dad asked him, flames licking at his face from his mask and mustache.

Todoroki sighed. "I texted you saying I was just going to walk home."

"Now isn't the time to be walking by yourself! The League of Villains is on the loose! Anyone could be their next target!"

"I don't think they'd kidnap two kids in one night dad." He said, getting annoyed. Why couldn't he have a moment of peace? His friend was just kidnaped and here was his dad, pestering him.

"Fine. Well, at least let this officer drive us the rest of the way."

Todoroki gritted his teeth. "Fine."

There was no use arguing. It would just make it more of a pain later. So reluctantly, he slung his bag over his shoulder and hopped into the cruiser, scooting as far away as possible from his dad.

Laying in his dusty, unused bed, he finally was starting to get some peace of mind. Well, as much as he could get with his friend being taken and all. At first he'd kind of panicked and assumed that they would kill Midoriya the moment they took him, but thinking about it, that didn't really make any sense. Apparently, they'd kept him in his room all day, so why kill him now? Also, that girl Togo said something about getting more blood out of him. It didn't sound good, and it made him slightly anxious thinking about what they were doing to him, but at least it meant he'd be kept alive for a while longer. They hadn't given any demands or said anything about taking him hostage, so it seemed like he was more a prisoner than something they were going to use as leverage or as a threat. They had no chance whatsoever of turning Midoriya into a villain, and the only reason they had tried it with Bakugo back then was because of his violent tendencies. That warp had also said something about Shigiraki not wanting the plan to be put into action, so maybe there really wasn't any reason they took him other than to either get rid of evidence or just for that girls wants. There had to be a reason, though, that she took his form all day. Was it to get close to all of the student and teachers? Or did they have some other motive? They could get into the school anytime they wanted with that warp quirk, so they had no reason to scout out the schools defensive weaknesses. But if they were going to hold a full-scale attack on the whole school, it would be useful to have information about its layout and the quirks of the students and teachers. It was a simple deduction, but it made the most sense. The pro hero's had probably already thought of it though.

And for the second time that night, his thoughts were interrupted by his dad.

There was a surprisingly light knock on his door. "Shouto?" He heard his dad say quietly.

Todoroki stayed silent, hoping he'd think he was asleep. He half expected him to start ponding on it telling him to wake up, but the only sound that came was a gentle thud, like someone resting their hand on the wood. Then there were heavy footsteps indictating he was leaving, and a while after the front door opening and closing. Hesitantly, Todoroki got up and tip-toed to the door and opened it. His dad was nowhere to be seen. He looked around, and noticed that there was a note taped to the door. He took it off and skimmed through the few sentences.

Shouto,

I have to leave for a while to get ready for the press conference that is being held tomorrow morning. It will air at 11 in case you want to tune in and hear the news regarding the child that was taken. There is food in the kitchen as there always is. Your siblings are out but should return shortly. Don't cause trouble.

-DAD

He scoffed. When did he ever cause trouble? He'd already known that there'd have to be a hundred different things he'd have to attend now that he was the number one hero. At least he'd be able to get some information in the morning. He looked at the time. 4:30 already. There was no use in going to sleep when he'd usually be getting up in a few hours anyway. So he laid back down in his bed and thought until he saw the sun come through his curtains.

WARNING

Next chapter gets kind of dark and there is violence and some/slight torture/just harmful actions. Just wanted to give a heads up.

Also sorry for the short chapter.
