Iida, in his dorm room, was supposed to be sleeping peacefully like he usually was. It was a school night after all. But he'd been disturbed by noises from down the hall. Screaming, explosions, voices. He could only assume the worst. But he'd frozen when he'd realized that was the way to Midoriyas dorm. Oh god. What had Bakugo done?
Shaking off his hesitation, he rushed out into the hall. It was a mess. The walls were scorched with black and some of the drywall had cracked and come off. More than half the class was gathered there, and in the center of them was Midoriya. He had scrapes and light burns all over his body, and he was shaking slightly. Iida ran up them. "What happened?" He asked Uraraka, who was trying to support Midoriya.
"Bakugo went berserk and attacked Deku-kun while he was sleeping. He kept screaming about him being a fake. Right Deku-kun?"
Midoriya nodded but didn't say anything.
"Where is he now?" Iida asked. That Bakugo had really done it this time. A rivalry was fine. Yelling, he could get over. But attacking him in his room? That was just unacceptable!
"Aizawa came in and dragged him off. He seemed really set on hurting Deku." Uraraka said.
"I've never seen him like that before towards another student. It was like he was attacking a-a villain or something." Kirishima said. He looked pretty scuffed up too, but his hardening probably helped if Bakugo had hit him with an explosion.
"You should probably go get those scrapes looked at Kirishima-Kun." Iida said. He didn't want any more of his friends staying hurt.
"Nah, I'm fine." Kirishima said, waving his hand dismissively. "I just need a shower." And he walked off. It was probably stressful for him. Seeing his friend go crazy.
When he left, most of the others did too. As Todoroki left, he glanced back at Midoriya with some unreadable emotion, and headed to his room. Some people stayed for a few minutes to ask what exactly had happened, but Iida waved them off. It was obvious Midoriya had gone through enough. He did that until it was only him, Tsu, and Uraraka. Iida looked at Midoriyas arms that were flecked with red burns. "You should definitely go to the nurse." He said. Uraraka and Tsu nodded.
"Y-yeah." He said, nodding. His voice sounded better. Maybe he had just been sick. His steps got steadier and he walked more confidently the further he got down the hall, until he disappeared around the corner. Iida smiled slightly. Everything was going to be back to normal soon.
Boy was he wrong.
"Oh, I hope Dekus room isn't scorched up too bad." Uraraka said, walking over to the blackened door. It was only opened a crack, but Iida could smell something... odd. It was probably just the residue from the explosions, he reassured himself.
"We should probably check it out to make sure there aren't any fires ribbit." Tsu said.
"Oh yeah! Deku'll probably be sad. He did love all of his All Might stuff. Now it probably burned." Uraraka said. She opened the door and took a step in before stopping. "Who's that on the floor?" She whispered, like she knew exactly what it was but wouldn't say it.
"What?" Iida said, maneuvering past her to look into the room. Had another student gotten caught up in this? But as he walked into the smoky room, it wasn't another student. It was the same student. He blinked the grimy air out of his eyes. He couldn't be seeing this right. He saw the figure, lying on the bed, and couldn't believe it. It was Midoriya. The person who'd just left to treat his wounds. As the both walked closer in confusion, Iida realized what the smell was. It was blood. There was blood on the sheets and blood on his clothes, just... red everywhere. He saw where it was coming from. Two huge cuts on the top of his friends arms.
