asked why I decided
not to tell anyone
about this project.
I'm terrified
they would tell me
not to publish this collection
to keep it safe on a drive
and I'm the only one
who could see it.
And I, who fears disappointing
the people I hold close;
will listen.
This project is now cancelled
Those words set fire to my flesh
and I'm left with words
that no one seems to care about.
How do I build a new collection
when fingers are still caught typing
the old collection?
How do I move on?
