When Mondo first met Taka's dad let's just say... It was very awkward. Why? Because it actually wasn't their first time meeting. Papa Ishimaru was one out of the many cops that has arrested Mondo. And, let's just say Mondo isn't the most calm and rational inmate. During that diner Mondo looked like he wanted to die, Taka's dad looked like he was about to fulfill Mondo's wish, and Taka was blissfully ignorant of the whole situation. Thankfully, Mondo and Papa Ishimaru have a better relationship now. Somehow.
