"Baba don't..."
"No...look I know your brothers are not here if nothing else I can lend an ear. Whatever you're going through, talking about it might help."
Thinking for a few moments Can looked at his Baba. "Baba it's nothing." No he couldn't put it on his Baba. He had never kept anything from his wife he didn't want to get between his parents.
"Look son what ever we say here tonight stays here. If you're worried about that...don't be." His Baba started, reading Can's thoughts, then continued. "Son I've never interfered in your lives I've always left it to your Anne. However don't ever think I don't keep my eyes open. Just because I tend not to talk openly like your Anne does. I want your happiness...all of my childen's." His Baba finished.
For the first time in his life...this was a first. He was taken by total surprise. Of course they had conversaions they were a very close family...but his Baba had never talked this deep.
"Baba I don't want to marry Polen." He blurted out suddenly.
"Ok...if you didn't want to marry why did you ask your Anne to find you a bride?"
"I was confused...." He had sat back down.
"Son can I ask you a question?" His Baba asked him. To which Can shook his head as a yes."Has it got something to do with Sanem."
"Baba Look let's forget it." Can started.
"Ok...ok...Son...calm down look if you don't want to marry Polen that's ok. We havn't really talked with her parents about it, nothing's finalised. If you're not ready to get married that's ok too. Don't worry about it."
"It's not that I don't want to get married. Oh Baba...I don't know where to start everything is really complicated."
"Ok...well why don't you start from the start."
"It's a long story..."
"And we have all night....come on son keeping things bottled up is really not good for your health."
"Hmm...remember back when Anne and I had that big argument. The time when I came home after I had just graduated."
"That was over three years ago."
"Yes well if you remember the last thing I said to her."
"Son I think the whole village heard what you told her that night." His Baba gave a chuckle. "Anne I love you more than life itself, but I'd rather marry the first decent woman I see tonight than one you choose for me." His Baba told him repeating everything he had said that night, word for word.
"Son in all our married life I had never seen your Anne as angry as I had that night. Well may be tonight aswell... anyway back to what you were saying."
"W..Well B...Baba I...I think God answered my p...prayers or my c...curse that night." He said raising his brows.
"C...Can what are y...you s...saying?" His Baba closed his eyes it wasn't hard to guess. Can's statment was clear and straight forward.
"W...Well t...the t..t...thing is Baba I got m...married that night."
"Oh Son...." His Baba closed his eyes.
"Baba it's not like it was out of choice...when I left the house I headed straight to the place of my first assigiment......"
Can told him what had happened about the water being drugged...the girl....about how he was drowsy that the only way to get a room was to get married.
"I swear the receptionist told me it wasn't a real wedding that people did it all the time. Untill I recieved the certificate...I tried to find the girl to put an end to it but had no such luck."
