The annoying tone of the phone had got to her....she had ignored the first few rings but it was piercing through her ears. Her lame attempt of putting the pillow over her head wasn't working. She knew there was no way her husband was going to pick it up, he could sleep, or pretend to sleep...through anything.
"This had better be good or I'm going to kill the person at the other end." Muttering in annoyance to herself she reluctantly picked it up.
"Hello" she stuttered.
"Abla, thank God what took you so long?"
"Sanem is that you," letting out a big yawn she continued "What time is it"
"Well it's three."
"In the morning"
"Yes, anyway what has that got to do with it?"
"Well it answers your first question of how long I took to anwer... your three in the morning phone call. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I was probably in the deepest of the night's sleep?" she continued "Well...what do you want?'
"If you'd give me a chance I will explain"
"Hold on why you are whispering"
"That's it...I need you to come pick me up."
"What...what have you done, Sanem...you know how I feel about these kinds of things....
"Nooo... it's nothing like that, listen...please come and collect me I'll explain everything."
"Tell me where you are"
Putting the phone down, she got out of bed and started to dress as quietly as she could. However the ringing of the phone had already awoken him...and he stirred "Who was it... no let me guess .....
"Oh put a sock in it, you know who it was... listen I have to go..." she knew she shouldn't take it out on him.
Looking at his watch..."Layla for god's sake it's three in the morning," seeing her expression he decided not to pursue the conversation and sighed... "Ok give me a minute I'll go with you ....."
"No it's better if I go alone; you stay with Zehra... I don't want to disrupt her sleep."
"You know you can't always jump when she says, she can't always have it her way."
"It's not like that and you know it. I told you how it was before we got together."
"That was then...you have other responsibilities now....
"This is not the time for this I have to go......
"Layla ...
"No don't Emre, look go back to sleep I'll see you in the morning."
She hated leaving like that, even thought they had arguments...the couple had made rules when they had got married, the most important of those rules had just been broken, the rule was...that they would never leave any issues, they were having in the air... they would sort them out, but there was no time for that.
This was an issue that had been disused from the very begging there was no way he could have just bought it up just now, when she had specifically made it an out of bounds subject.
Sanem was the only other family (well blood family) she had left and there was no way she would ever abandon her if it could be helped. She only hoped that Sanem could find someone who would take care of her, the way Emre did for her.

Layla reached the distention quickly... there was hardly any traffic on the roads. As she approached the location Sanem had given her, she could see a silhouette of someone sitting on the pavement, head in their lap. Bringing the car to a halt, she saw that it was her sister.
"What's going on Sanem?"
"Let's get out of here I'll explain, please could you take me home."
Closing the door of her apartment Sanem turned to face her sister.
"Ok this had better be good...I left Emre in an angry state ....."
"I am sorry Abla if I had known ...
"Don't you worry about that well sort it out, now tell me..."
"Well the thing is Abla...please don't get angry..."
"What have you done Sanem... tell me now. You're scaring me"
"Remember the time whe...When it was Asli's hen night well..."
"Sanem, stop stuttering and spit it out, will you."
"The thing is...hmm... I got married that night." She scrunched her face waiting for the outburst.
