"Who is she?" She asked again. In her heart she already knew.
How could she not...from the first meeting to all the glances to the mood swings. It all added up. All she needed was to hear it from his mouth. She had always been a good judge of character. How could she have missed this.
"It's Sanem." He told her.
Closing her eyes she took a deep breath. Trying to calm herself down.
"Anne are you Ok?" Can asked taking a step towards her.
She opened her eyes and put up a hand to stop him. "Don't come any closer." She told him. "I don't want say something I'll regret."
"Anne please...it's not how it seems." He tried to explain, but wasn't doing a good job of it.
"Ok tell me you're not married, that all this is just a lie." She told him.
"I can't Anne it's the truth, I can't lie..." He started.
"Oh so now you can't lie. Ok come on then, tell me how long. How long have you been married?" She asked.
"Hmm..." He cleared his throat. "W..well I...it's nearly been four years." He told her expecting a full out explosion.
But nothing when he looked at his Anne she had sat back down. Cradling her hands between her hands. Can knelt at her feet pulling her hands away from her face...but she resisted.
"Anne please." Can said quitely. "Let me explain."
"So you want to explain now...well I'm sorry. If you didn't think to tell us then....why now?"
"Anne..."
"I will not accept this marriage." She said standing up. "You've had four years...four years. What's changed now. Just because we found out." She told him with hurt in her eyes. "I Will not bless this marriage. I don't want that girl to have anything to do with our family. She tried to come between you and Omer." Pausing for a moment. "However If you choose her over us then so be it. That's your choice." She finished.
"She's not like that Anne. None of this was her fault." Can defended. "She's the only one that's innocent in all this."
"I don't want to hear you praising her. She's nothing but a home wrecker..."
"Enough...that's Enough." Can's Baba roared.
For the first time his voice heard. He had not intervened, hoping his wife would see reason but no. Here she was speaking ill of a family member. Their son's wife...he couldn't let it continue. Knowing she would regret it later.
Taken by surprise....her husband had never spoken in a raised tone. Especially to her, she took back a few steps....still in a state of schock.
"Now that's enough." He came to stand infront of his wife. "Sweetheart I have never interfered in your ways. With the boys, but I can't stand and watch this. What Can's is saying is the truth. I know you will find it hard to believe but you need to listen to what he has to say. However I will tell you, the marriage was neither Can's or Sanem's fault. When you calm down he will explain..." He told her before she interrupted.
"I don't need an explana...." She started.
Her husband took hold of her hand looked into her eyes and spoke softly repeating what he had just said. "When you calm down he will explain...and you will hear him out."
At that moment there was a knock at the door. Can went to open it, comeing back with Omer. Who looked so pale as if the blood had been drained from his body.
