"Sanem, stop stuttering and spit it out, will you."

"The thing is...hmm... I got married that night." She scrunched her face waiting for the outburst.

"wh...wh...what I didn't quite hear...I mean...I heard something about you getting married, but that must be my imagination... because the thing is you would have been only what 18, now that can't be possible"

"I was 19 ..., Come on Abla, be reasonable.... you remember someone had spiked those drinks that night."

"Well yes I do but you weren't supposed to have anything to drink, you promised me...that was one of the conditions on which I let you go to that dammed party. What happened you were supposed to look out for Asli...keep her out of trouble...not dive in head first, your bloody self? Who is he? One of Murat's friends, I know some of them went as well...they were there to keep the girls safe. Well fess up, or has the cat got your tongue ..... "

"You haven't exactly given me a chance to reply, and no it wasn't Murat's friend ......"

"He was hmmm I ca...can't remember ......he was just there"

"Oh my God you didn't know him did you ...you mean he was a stranger"

"Well you didn't exactly know Emre Abi before you married him did you..."

"What...that has nothing to do with this. Nobody marries a stranger they've just meet, what came over you."

"Well he was extremely good-looking and sexy....."

"No...No...No... don't you dare make this into a joke, we have to sort this out. Hang on, wait...wait a minute... if this was all three years ago what... why... are... we... why have you just told me now, why am I just finding out now."

"Listen Abla will you please calm down...it's not as bad as you're making it to be..."

"Not as bad as I' making it out to be...

"Stop repeating what I say, just be quite and I'll explain..."

"Well we were there at Asli's party, and he started talking to me, well he actually interrupted a conversation I was having with someone. I promise I only drank a still water... nothing else, anyway I felt tipsy."

Layla cut in "You should have told the girls, they would have taken care of you."

Sanem continued. "I wanted to, but I couldn't...I was feeling very drowsy, they were having fun... I didn't want to spoil it for anyone. So I was going to go to my room, but I passed out before I reached the door."

"What are you saying that this man took advantage of you?"

Well I could just blame the whole thing on him I suppose... it's not as if I'd be seeing him again any time soon... neither was Abla "It just happened."

"Just happened" she repeated "How you can say that."

"Well Abla you got to be honest, at least I did the deed a married woman..."Sanem added...trying to make light of the situation.
