waiting

Silence sneaks upon my bedroom door.
Across my desolate window pane,
and slithers about the curtains
fluttering about my person;

but still my window remains open.

For fear my stars may never find me,
and the dawn will forget to guide me, to the bottomless ease of sleep,
That taunts me about the eves
never to pass me, never to treat.

The silence stalks the shadows,

they dance upon my bedroom walls.
Outside the night birds call,
And inside the silence gathers.
It creeps about my pillow,

Dancing about my head
I look to face the window,
Looking at the stars,
the tears dry too soon.

I lie there waiting for the moon.
