Almost a year passed without any sign of Weston at all and that was really starting to bother me.

Right now there was something else on our minds right now. My sister was getting married to her soulmate and I told her that I would help her with the ceremony. She and I agreed that the feud that we had between us was going on long enough. I couldn't stop thinking about Weston though, wondering how much destruction he was causing or even if there was any way to defeat him.

For now though instead of thinking so much about darkness and destruction and maybe focus on the happiness of this wedding and my sister's new life. There was nothing I could do about Weston for now.

Vince knew that I was stressed from all of the planning, my nightmares that I have been having, and from worrying about Weston. To ease some of this stress he promised me that he was going to take me to his cabin for the weekend and we would spend time together just him and I.

Unlike some of the houses that he owns, this is probably one of the smallest. I told him that owning such expensive houses was impractical and it made him look greedy. He couldn't help but laugh at me saying that.

The entire ride to the cabin I was smiling and I felt at peace for a while. Then my phone would start ringing and it would be my sister asking me about color schemes for her wedding or Giovanni would be calling me, begging me to come home. Vince wasn't having it though and he took the phone from my hand and hung up, " This weekend is just for the two of us. Our families can wait." I smiled at him and apologized, ready to enjoy my weekend with him.

The cabin was such a sweet, quaint house. I loved small houses and Vince knew it. I got excited and took his hand and ran up to the house. " Look at this place babe! It's so beautiful." There was a lake out back and I smiled and hugged Vince, " This is exactly what I needed this weekend." He kissed me, " I know."

After he brought our suitcases up to our room I got dressed into my swim suit and I went downstairs and called out to Vinny, " Come on babe, let's go swimming." He came down and he said, " Actually, I have something else prepared. Go upstairs and get dressed into something nice." I kissed him, " I love you." He smiled, " I love you too now let's go."

I ran back upstairs and got dressed into the nicest dress I brought. I ran outside and called out to Vince. I heard him in the backyard, " I'm here babe!" I ran out back and he was sitting on a picnic blanket. It wasn't an actual picnic because there was no food but there was rose petals and champagne.

I couldn't help but laugh a little as I sat down, " What's this?" He was smirking but he didn't seem to want to tell me what was going on. I laughed again, " Tell me what's going on!" He shook his head, still not willing to tell me what was going on. I sighed and gave up.

I rested my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed my head. I heard him mumble something under his breath so I looked up at him and said, " You say something Vinny?" He shook his head and he changed the subject and just asked me a bunch of questions about our future together.

We were basically playing 20 questions with each other. I asked random, arbitrary questions and he asked me some too. I kind of liked the more open and sharing version of him better. While we were playing he suddenly grabbed something from his sweatshirt pocket and the last question he asked me was, " Will you marry me?"

He held out his hand and there was an engagement ring that was a small, gold band that would fit nicely on my finger. I didn't know what to say at first, I was shocked ( in a good way though.) I thought I was the only one who thought our relationship was heading in this direction.

When I didn't answer him immediately he started to get worried, " I hope I didn't speak too soon." He said with a little blush. I have never seen him blush before and I thought it was sweet. I smiled at him and said softly, " No, you didn't. I was just a little caught off-guard but my answer is yes, I will marry you." He looked so relieved and after he placed the ring on my finger I practically jumped on him and kissed all over his face. We both couldn't help but laugh.

" Vinny, I love you. You know I do but it would mean a lot to me if we didn't tell anyone we were engaged yet. I don't want to steal Carla's thunder. After her wedding I promise we can shout it out to the world afterwards but I want to patch things up with my sister and I dont want to steal her special day away from her." He nodded and said he understood.

I soon changed the subject and said, " Now, why dont we celebrate our happiness with a glass of that champagne?" He chuckled and joked, " Good, I mean that is one of the reasons I proposed to you so I could enjoy this really good champagne." I playfully pushed him and laughed, " You're such a weirdo."
