Before I could say anything Raina jumped in. "Wait. Maurya? As in Veer Maurya? Did you meet him?" I frowned slightly but nodded.

"Omigod." Raina squealed. "Why didn't you tell me? So how is he? Is he as hot as he looks in the pictures? Is he as charming as the tabloid say? Is he intimidating, intense or cold and ruthless businessman that everyone claims him to be? " She ranted.

I could not help the little pinkening of my cheeks that accompanied Raina's rant. Veer may have been a grade A ass to me. But he was definitely all that. The Veer i had met two months ago was hot and charming. The Veer I met two days ago was intense, ruthless and cold even if he was still just as much droolworthy.

"Are you blushing? Do you have a crush on him already?"

"What? No! He is just a business partner and nothing more. And honestly, he is a bit on the rude side." I said looking at Raina indignantly as my family stared at us.

Raina didn't look convinced, "If you say so."

"I most certainly do say so," I said firmly.

"So back to the original question, how was the deal?" Papa asked again

"The deal had unexpected benefits. Some of which I need to discuss with you before I plan any more future strategies. I am also thinking of a few policy changes," I said. Papa raised his eyebrows at the mention of policy changes. He eyed me meaningfully.

"Alright. We will talk when you get back from work," he said finally.

"And Naina, come home by lunch today. Malhotra and family are coming today to discuss shaadi stuff," Ma said. I nodded. The Roka was coming soon. We need to start planning for the wedding as well. Ramesh uncle had asked Papa for help. I had been told that he wanted the wedding to be a mix of business and festivities. I am not sure if Aaryan was aware of that. (Wedding)

Guess we will find that out today.

I finished my breakfast, hugged everyone and left for office.

I was going through stock trends on my flat-screen T.V. when I got a call from an unknown number. The screen read 'Private Number'. I frowned. Picking up the call I muttered, "Hello"

"Good Morning, Ms. Mittal," said a deep and I might a say amused voice on the other end. A voice I could recognise anywhere. A voice that made my stomach flutter.

Veer

"Mr. Maurya," I said crisply. He chuckled.

"You don't sound too happy to hear from me, Ms. Mittal," Veer responded.

"I am not," I deadpanned.

"Ouch. That hurt but I guess I deserved that." I could hear his smirk.

"How did you get my number?"

"I have my ways, Ms. Mittal."

Of course he did.

"Well then, how can I help you, Mr. Maurya?" I asked straightening in my chair.

"I have a couple of reports from my research team. There are a few things I would like to discuss with you before we give the collaborated research a green light. I was wondering if you are free today for a chat?" Veer explained.

A small part of me was disappointed that he hadn't called to explain his side of the story. But I quickly crushed that thought.
Of course, he didn't call to explain. He didn't want anything to do me except having profitable business relationship.
Like him, I needed to put my focus back on my business.
