I had finally finished packing my things and now the moving men were shipping it to my new apartment. It was bittersweet because I was really excited to start a new life on my own. My parents were just as excited as I was but I was also kind of sad because it reminded me of how lonely I would be in this apartment.
It didn't take long to move in. I immediately got started on the interior decorating to make it less awkward for me. As for the second room, I did not bother to touch it because it will only make me feel worse. There was nobody to inhabit it. I could get a roommate but I valued privacy.
I texted my friends my new address just so that if they needed to send me anything they would know where to send it. I got comfortable on the couch and dozed off.
Within an hour all of my friends were there helping me decorate and at that moment I didn't really feel as lonely.
"All you need is a man to be here with you." Jasmin said.
"You know how I feel around guys."
"Are you lesbian?" Hilcias joked.
"No!" I swatted her gently then sighed. Is this really what it's come to?
"Come on, let's finish unpacking." Jasmin said to break the silence.
