"Couldn't you refuse the assignment?. Tell them you had family issues, especially with the kidnapping?" He asked a few minutes later.
"I had sighned up for it before the case had ended. The other thing was I didn't tell the department I was married."
"So what happened then?"
"Well when I was called back a few weeks ago. I recieved a call telling me she was back at her office. That's when I met her and we discussed the divorce. I thought it was over I could move on with my life, that's when I told Anne I wanted to get married." He sighed. "And that's when I found her in the one place I would never have imagined her. In my family home chatting away with my Anne, And nearly chokeing to death on seeing me." He finished.
"Well you two have been through the works." His Baba told him.
"Baba I've only just realised I was fighting my feelings for her all this time." He took a deep breath. "I don't know why, but when I saw her here." He said Taking a deep breath. "And with Omer...oh God I don't know how I stopped my self." He stood up taking a few steps away before walking back.
"Son..." His Baba stood up.
"The thoughts I had when I saw him." He shook his head vigorously. "Baba subconsciously I was in love with her from the very first moment I saw her. It took me seeing her with Omer to finally admit it to my self." He said frustratingly.
"It's ok son...everything is going to be ok." His Baba tried to comfort him.
"No it's not baba can't you see. I've ruined everything." He said, with tears in his eyes. "It took all this time for her to build a little trust in me and I broke it within minuites."
"Son you've explained everything, but why was she with Omer when still married to you?" He asked.
"It was a fake engagment, I don't know the deatails but that I do know. I haven't had a chance to talk to Omer." He said.
"I don't think it's a good idea to talk to him in your state."
"What should I do Baba. I really don't know. On one hand there's Anne, on the other Sanem." Can said sitting back down.
His Baba put his arm around him. "Son my advice to you would be to listen to your heart." He told Can. "I told you something last night, I'll tell you a one sided love can never succeed." He told him pausing for a moment. "You say you love her, does she recoupraite the feelings?" He asked him.
"Yes." He answered immediately.
However his Baba sensed something asking him. "Has she told You?"
"Baba I know she does. Like I've told you I broke her trust. She left because she was upset. I don't know if she'll ever want to see me again never mind trusting me again."
"Well then what are you waiting for go...go get your girl. Start earning her trust. If she loves you she'll give you hell, but you'll have to bear it." He told him.
"I'm ready for anything...but what about Anne?" Can asked.
"Don't you worry about her...between you and me. Your Anne didn't mean any of what she said. I think she was more hurt then anything else. I've never seen her take to anyone like she did to Sanem." He said continuing. "Now that I know most of what happened. I will tell you Son, in my opinion you couldn't have made a better choice."
"Thank you Baba." Can told him hugging him.
"Enough of that, I want you packed and out of here." He told him. "Next time you come back I want my daughter-in-law on your arm." He said Patting his back.
