After Embry had left it was 5 hours later I heard from him.

"Hey Embry." I stated glumly. My voice hoarse from crying.
"Are you crying?"
"Hmm? Oh! Umm no." I cleared my throat and talked normally. Perks of being a vampire.
"Listen. If you need me call me. I don't care if I'm sleeping or if I'm angry at you. If you need me and if you need to talk to me, Ill be there for you . No matter how big or small your problem is. I'll be there." he said in a voice so devoted it made me smile. And I believed him. I believed he wouldn't leave me.
"Thanks Embry. Look, I uh I gotta go." I hung up the phone.

So there you have it. He said he would be here for me. But yet I didn't have the nerve to call him up and tell him that I needed him now. I didn't have the nerve to look at his face when he would've arrived. I couldn't let ANYONE see me like this. I displayed my perfectly okay face for an audience. My broken side of me was for my own entertainment. For my conscious to laugh at my weakness. For my face to leak salt water. For my own tricks. For my arrows to shrivel under my touch because I wasn't brave enough at the moment. I needed to be brave for my arrows. I needed to be okay for my own happiness. I was sick of my conscious laughing at me. It was time. Time to flip the switch.
