"So where in Australia did you live?"

Chan groaned at the millionth question he had heard for the day, not that he was annoyed, he just wanted to get some sleep. His back was turned against Felix, but he could swear he felt the other boy's intense gaze burn holes onto his back. Chan sighed, "Felix it's literally past one am.."

"But you didn't answer me." He replied, not in the least bit disheartened by Chan's words.

"Sydney. I moved multiple times tho."

Felix replied with a long "oh", already thinking about what his next question would be, "Can I have your number? Since we're roommates." He added happily.

"Tomorrow."

"Huh is that rejection?"

"How about you go to sleep and I'll give you my number in the morning?"

"Yay alright!" Felix rejoiced. He paused for a moment.

"Mm.. Do you think Minho moved out because he hates me? Or was I too annoying?"

Chan sensed the drop in Felix's tone and thought for a while. "I don't think so. He probably wanted my roommate. Maybe he's got a crush." He lied, clearly remembering Minho had no clue whatsoever who Chan's freshman roommate was supposed to be.

"Oohhhh, cute!"

A few painstakingly slow seconds passed, Chan hadn't closed his eyes, he stared at the wall before him. The room was dimly lit by Felix's night lamp since he refused to sleep in pitch black darkness.

Felix broke the silence again, "hey?"

"What?" Chan waited.

"Turn, look at me. I don't know if you're listening or sleep-talking, so.."

Chan listened to Felix trail off, he sighed yet once more before shifting in his bed to face Felix. The boy was surrounded with a range of plushies. He held an awfully large duck plush in a tight embrace, staring right back at Chan.

"Go on, what did you wanna ask?" Chan asked softly.

"Do you prefer Chan or Chris?" Felix inquired seriously.

"Oh? Guess I'm used to Chan but I don't mind either."

Felix 'oh'-ed again, "okay then, hyung!" He broke into a full, wide smile, eyes disappearing into crescents. Chan was not sure what caused his heart to seemingly stop then set off on a beating marathon, or why his words caught in his throat. Maybe it was the 'hyung', or maybe it was Felix's undeniably heart-fluttering smile. Mayhaps, it was both. They held eye contact for a good while, Felix's mind probably consumed with raging questions like 'did I say something wrong?' to dumber ones like 'did he just freeze when it's not even cold in here?'
Chan frantically shifted in bed, now facing the ceiling, he shut his eyes and gulped.

"Goodnight, Felix."

When he got no response, he dared to open his eyes again and glanced at the boy on the opposite bed. Felix was knocked out asleep, breathing steadily with a small pout on his lips.

Chan smirked,

"Maybe this isn't so bad after all."
