"You—" Sebastián started swimming after me but I was quicker. I'd always be quicker.
"You can't catch me!" I stuck my tongue out and dodged another grab. He smiled frustratingly and then tried again but I moved too fast. "My nickname back at Silva is Quick Quinn," I laughed.
He growled playfully and then came forward. I put my hand on his chest and then instantly regretted it. I winced as I looked down at my palm.
"Palms. They're not healed yet." His mother had done a really good job patching them up, but they still weren't fully healed. They were Lotus wounds and would probably scar due to that fact. The water had managed to cool them off and semi numb them but... the moment they came to contact with something they burned.
Sebastián looked up at the sky that was growing darker by the second. "Yeah we should probably head back anyways."
I nodded and felt my legs grow more tired. "How do we get out?" I asked.
Sebastián looked at the cliff side next to us and winced. "It's a steep climb."
I closed my eyes as I took a deep breath. I could handle this. I could do it. "Okay."
"I'm sorry, I didn't think about it." He admitted.
I waved him off, giving him a soft smile. "It's fine, let's just... get through it."

I would say I was in front of Sebastián, but it felt more like I was above him. He wasn't exaggerating when he said the hill up was a steep one.
I heard Sebastián groan behind me. "This view is great but I can't focus on it so it kinda sucks." His laugh was one through pain.
I tried my best to laugh back but it only came out as a whisper. I could feel Sebastián's wolf grazing the surface every time I made a noise of distress. He was so scared, he felt so bad. It was a rough climb, a climb that only made my injuries and tired body worse. The cold water from the pond had now heated and was sticky with sweat.
I knew how Sebastián felt. He didn't want me to be in pain any more than I wanted him to be. Half the fight was climbing and baring my pain, the other half was forcing myself not to make Sebastián move back down because I didn't want him to hurt anymore.
I gave one last heave and collapsed onto the cool forest floor beneath me. I felt out of breath and my limbs burned like they only ever did after hours of training. I needed to sleep. Immediately.
Sebastián came up after me a couple minutes later. I sat up to watch him struggle up and over the plateau. He looked as beat up as I felt.
"How— did you— do that— so fast?" He panted out. He came to lay next to me, his head on my stomach.
I chuckled, wincing as I held my palms up to the sky. "Quick Quinn."
He laid there for a second, watching the grass next to us. He closed his eyes and I closed mine. "Can we just sleep here?" He groaned.
I could have. If I wasn't so stubborn I would have fallen asleep right here, right now. I would've been perfectly comfortable. "No, we can't."
I took off my wet clothes off as Sebastián dug his head in his arm. I shifted into my wolf who was begging me to go back to my human form. She was just as tired as I was.
Come on, Seb. I mind linked.
He stood up and shifted, not caring about his clothes. Fine. But I'm not happy about this.
I didn't think you would be. I joked back.
We began running back to the pack, tired and eager to sleep. I leapt over the thorns, ran through the tick nest again, and then stopped at the bottom of a large hill.
