⚘Chapter-Twenty⚘

Start from the beginning

"No...but he's spoken to CeyCey and his parents on the phone...it's just a matter of time. What about you?"

"I told Abla this afternoon...she didn't take it very well. That why I've been out the whole day....giveing her some time to calm down."

"If Abi agrees I might go to the wedding with you...but that's a big If. He said he'll let me know by tonight." Ayhan said.

"That would be great...Ayhan they're a great family. Really nice and welcoming."

The chatted a while longer and before they knew it...it was eight oclock.

"Oh God... I'm in for it now. Abla is going to kill me."

Layla had been pacing back and forth for the last hour.

"Layla relax...she'll be home soon. Honey don't get yourself stressed."

Emre tried to calm her down. Reaching out to make her sit down but she was restless and carried on... when she heard frond door open.
She went and before Sanem had a chance to close the door...Layla started on her.

"Where were you?...Do you have any idea how worried I was...look at the time." Layla said all at once.

"Stop...just..stop Abla." Her voiced raised...not so loud...but enough to surprise both Layla and Emre.
"Look Abla if I had known I would cause you this much stress. When I came home I would have stayed in Spain. In fact if you carry on I'll go back tonight. I came here to help you not cause you more grief." Sanem finshed and slumped down on the chair.

"I'm sorry Sanem....I didnt mean to..." Layla said sitting next to her.

"Come here..." Sanem scooted over to Layla...putting her arms around her.

"I know it's cliche...but remember between us theres a....No sorry...No thank you policy. Abla...just let go, relax and be calm. When the baby comes...you'll be even more busier. So lets relax and enjoy this time...ok."

"Ok.."Layla replied.

Sanem woke up early the next morning....wanting to spoil Layla by cooking her breakfast. She was going back in a few days and wanted this business with the engagement over and done with.

Once she was free of that then she would feel better. There was still another very important matter she had to sort out. Hopefully after that she could finally move on with her life.

It was just gone eleven oclock when she made it out the front door. Opening it as Ayhan had just reached out to knock it.

"Hey...Ayhan...what's up." Sanem could see by her expression of excitement that she had good news. "Don't tell me...Osman has agreed to CeyCeys proposal."

"How did you guess?" Ayhan looked surprised.

"Well...your face is glowing. I think you'd have enough electricity to power whole the town. Congratulations...Ayhan I'm so happy for you. So when are you going to let CeyCey know."

"I'm not...I'm going to tell him personally. Sanem....Abi agreed that I can go back with you." She told Sanem hugging her.

******

They shared a cab....both had thing's to sort out before leaving. Ayhan had business with clients while Sanem had gone into Deren's favourite coffee shop and grabbed her a coffee before heading to the office.

The call had come a few days after he had been at the family home. His senior officer calling him back. A fight had broken out in the prision where the detainees in the human trafficking case had been taken. One had been killed and a few were in critical condition. The paperwork had to be updated straightaway.

As soon as he had recieved the call. He had been cursing all the way there. After getting through his cold...courtesy of his Anne's care and constant supply of hot soup. He was just settling in. As always he's Anne hovering around him...he'd missed it. The care and attention of his Anne. Sometimes humans were so fickel...and ungrateful.

Thank goodness there wasn't much to do. There wasn't any need for him to stay the night. He had it all sorted and was getting ready to head back. If he hadn't got into a deep discussion with a colleague....he would have been half way home. Well....

*****

It's said that every grey cloud has a silver lining...well 'his silver lining' so to speak was here in this building. And here he was waiting for the last half an hour for a woman he'd practically left no stone unturned...to find...but was unable to. He was thankful to the caller...who had helped him. Sometime it pays to be kind and a few sweet words could go a long way.

Carrying the hot coffee Hazal gestered to Sanem that Deren was in her office.

Without knocking Sanem went into the office. Deren had her head firmly on the screen but Sanem saw her facial expression change as she raised her head.

"How dare you enter..." She stopped short of what she was saying as the aroma of the coffee hit her nose. Only one person would buy her coffee from her favourite coffee shop...and she was miles away...in Spain...unless.
As she raised her head her suspicion was confirmed.

"Sanem!!!...what are you doing back. You didn't even let me know." Deren came around an tightly hugged Sanem.

"Deren..." Sanem croaked as Deren quickly let her go.

"So I came around yesterday...but you were at a conference. I wanted to surprise you. I told Hazal not to mention my visit."

"Visit!!!?..." Deren emphasised the word."So come on...now tell me all about it."

"Sorry no can do this is a flying visit...next time we'll catch up. However I can stay for a cup of tea." Deren had called Hazal on the intercom before Sanem had finished.

******

"Ok I mean it Sanem next visit we'll go to lunch...no excuses." The two hugged before Sanem went out and chattered to her former colleagues...it was another half an hour before she was out of the building.

It had been nearly two hours. He'd all but given up of her ever coming out of the building. God....what was she doing in there. Every time the door opened he would look up... disapointed. Hearing the door open at that moment...he's head darting up for the....God knew how many times. But this time he was he wasn't disapointed. This time it was her....she was like a nymp... an apparition....her beauty. She looked just as she had the first time he'd laid eye's on her in the club...all thoese years ago.

He couldn't believe it after all this time she was in front of him....and what was he doing. The idiot was staring at her...still sitting in his car. Any minute now her cab would come and....enough thinking he got out of his car. When he saw someone had called her and she turned back. Thank goodness this gave him time to cross over.

On point her cab came to a stop...she reached out to open the door. When strong...long lean fingers of a hand were placed over hers. The touch made her whole body jolt....as an electrifying current went through her body.

She knew in an instance...who the hand belonged to...the person she had been both dreading and wanting to meet for the past six months. Slowly she turned around to face him.
