Chapter 8

Clementine's POV

Me and Carl started walking back to our cells

"Hey Clem you did the right thing back there"

"I hope I did. I don't think they trust me yet though"

"I'm sure they do"Carl said

"Whatever you say cowboy"

Carl tipped his hat "that's sheriff to you miss D"

We both started laughing

We walked in our cell. I climbed on the top bunk and sat there Carl sat on the bottom bunk.

"Let's play a game" I said

"OK"

"Would you rather have lobster claws for hands or a snake for a tongue"

"Depends does the snake have free reign" Carl asked

" yes"

"OK then both"

"What both, the whole point of the game is to chose"

"But their both so attractive" Carl said

I started to laugh

A few games later

"Carl I'm gonna sleep alone because of my arm"

"Ok that's fine" he said

"Night"

"Night"

The next morning
Carl's POV

I woke up and realized I slept in.

"Oh shit" I mumbled

I usually get waken up by Clementine. She's lucky she doesn't have to work because of her arm. I shook her awake.

"C'mon Clem get up"

"Do I have to"

"Yes now get up"

"Carry me"

I grabbed her and put her on the floor feet first.

"Let's get ready"

We got dressed and I changed Clementine's bandage.

"Hey Clem will you take those pigtails out of your hair" I asked

"Why"

"Because I want to see what you look like without them"

"Ok"

She took the bands out of her hair. She looked pretty with her hair down

I whistled and she blushed. She started to put them back in until I stopped her.

"What are you doing" I asked her

"Putting my hair in pigtails"

"Keep your hair down please" I begged

"Ok but just for today"

"So Clem what will you do today since you can't work" I asked

"I'll probably hang out with Duck,Lizzie, or Mika ,and I'll probably take care of Judith so Beth can have a day off.

"Heh sounds fun" i teased

"Better than working"

"Nah I would rather work then hang out with a bunch of kids"

"But I'm a kid" she said

"Ya but your a mature kid who can take care of herself and bash a couple of heads together if she needed to"

"True"

I laughed

"Ready" I asked

"Yeah let's go"

We walked out of our cell and headed to the cafeteria grabbed some food and left. Clementine walked me outside and over to Rick who was farming.

"Hey dad need any help" I said

"Yeah its harvesting time so that means were close to winter"

"I hate the cold ,but I love the snow" Clementine said

"Carl I'm going to go see you later love" Clementine said

"Bye sweet orange" I said

Clementine walked back to the prison. Rick and I started to harvest the vegetables.

"Looks like things are going well with you two" rick said

"Ya were doing fine" I said

"I'm surprised. you two are so young and we live in a shitty world where there isn't any time for romance"

"age doesn't matter anymore, either your living or your dead" I said

"I know but she's 12 and your only 13"

"I don't care I love her and she loves me that's all that matters"

"Carl you barely even know the girl"

"Dad don't worry I won't screw up, like you did with mom"

"Don't bring her up"

" to bad I just did"

We were silent until we heard a scream it sounded like Mika.
Clementine's POV

"Lizzie don't do it" I said

"Don't worry she'll come back" Lizzie said

"Lizzie no"

"Lizzie please don't " Mika said

Lizzie started to walk up to Mika with a knife in her hand

Mika mouthed the words help to me. I ran in front of Mika protecting her

"Mika get Judith out of here now" I said

"But what about you" she said

"I'll be fine just go" Mika grabbed Judith and started running but she looked back and saw me get stabbed.

Lizzie sliced my side and I fell she was trying to cut my throat but I was holding her back. Mika started screaming. My arm was still weak and it started giving out. This may be it for me.

I heard a loud bang and Lizzie's lifeless body fell on top of me. I saw Carl pointing his gun.

He helped me up and I hugged him. I started to cry.

"Clem your side is bleeding" he said

"Lizzie cut me"

"Let's take you to Hershel"

"Ok" I sobbed

Hershel bandaged my side and stopped the bleeding.

I got up and left the infirmary. I went to find Mika ,but I was stopped by Carl.

"Shouldn't you be laying down"he asked

"Maybe"

"Come on let's go to our cell its getting late anyways" Carl said

"Well I was going to talk to Mika but I guess that could wait till tomorrow.

We walked back to our cells and fell asleep
