Chapter 4

Carl's POV

I woke up and looked at clementine sleeping peacefully. I kissed her forehead and got out of bed. I changed my clothes and put my shoes on. Clementine woke up and sat up.

"Morning Clementine"

"Good morning Carl" she stood up and started hugging me so I put my arms around her

"Do we have to work today" she asked

"We only have to go to the watchtower today"I told her

"Great guard duty" she complained

"Don't worry we get to take watch together"

"Yay" she cheered

"Alright Clem get ready"

She put her boots and jacket on then grabbed my hat.

"Clementine why did you grab my hat?

"Because I want to wear it.

I grabbed her hat "OK then I'm wearing your hat for the day".

We walked to the cafeteria and grabbed an apple then headed up to the guard tower.

We climbed up the ladder than sat there a talked.

"So clementine what's your story"

"Well my parents went on vacation to Savannah and left me with my babysitter Sandra they never came back. I heard Sandra scream one night I got scared so I hid in my treehouse. Then this man named Lee found me he taught me how to survive he taught me to shoot a gun. He's the reason I keep my hair short.

"What happened to him" I asked

"There was a stranger who said he knew my parents I thought he was telling the truth so I ran away to find him. Lee got bit trying to find me I saw my parents as walkers. Then I had to shoot Lee so he didn't turn. Its my fault i was young and stupid. Sometimes people die because of me.

Clementine started to cry so I hugged her.

"Its okay Clem. I told her

"No its not. I don't want what happened to Lee, happen to you" she cried even more.

"Clementine everything will be okay".

"I hope so" she pulled away and sat down so I sat next to her. I put my hand on hers our fingers intertwined.

"Clementine I have a question.

"What is it Carl"?

"Will you be mine"

"Yes Carl" she said then kissed my cheek.

Yes I finally got my dream girl, a walker slaying badass.

We walked back to the prison and ate lunch.

Clementine's  POV

After lunch I walked to Beth's cell

"Hey beth you got a minute"?

"Ya sure what is it Clementine. Beth asked

"Carl finally asked me to be his girlfriend "

"And"  she said

"I said yes"

"Congratulations "

"Thanks beth "

Judith was on beths bunk so I picked her up and held her

"Judith really likes you beth" I said

"Thanks Clem I bet she likes you to" beth said

I gave Judith to beth.

"See you later beth" I waved

"Later Clem " she waved back

I went to the library and saw Carl  reading a comic. I walked in and sat next to him I grabbed my hat off his head.

"Hey i was wearing that" he said

I put his hat on his head

"Awww I liked your hat" he whined

"Don't whine sheriff you got your other hat back".

"Okay Miss D I'll stop whining" he chuckled

I layed my head on his shoulder and fell asleep.

An hour later

I woke up. My head was still on Carl's shoulder. His head was on my head.

He was sleeping so I tried to wake him up.

"Carl wake up". That didn't work  "Wake up sleepy head" I shook him he finally woke up.

"Come on were late for dinner" I told him

"Alright Im coming" he said

I started walking away when I felt two arms grab me and pick me up.

It was Carl. He picked me up bridal style and carried me to the cafeteria.

"There's the two love birds" Rick said

"Haha very funny" I heard Carl say

I started to laugh

There was only one seat so Carl sat me down and went to get our food.

He came back with two apples and crackers.

"Clementine stand up real quick" Carl said

"OK" I stood up Carl sat down and took my spot.

"Hey no fair" I said

He grabbed me and sat me on his lap.

"There, better sweet orange" Carl chuckled

"Much better". I said

After dinner

Carl's POV

Clementine grabbed my hand and led me outside to the grassy field.

"Clementine what are you doing"? I asked her

"You'll see". She answered

She took me out by a pond we sat on a small bridge.

"So Carl what happened to your mom" clementine asked

"Something went wrong when she was giving birth to Judith so we had to cut open her stomach. She died so I shot her in the head so she wouldn't turn".

"I'm so sorry Carl" clementine kissed my forehead and hugged me.

"Lets head back to our cell"I said

"Alright" she replied

We had to kill a couple of walkers on the way back ,but nothing we couldn't handle.

When we got in the cell I took my shirt off and gave clementine a flannel to sleep in. She put it on

"Its big on you" I said

"Ya but that's what makes it comfortable" she said

We took of our hats and put them on the desk.

I kissed her lips she kissed me back.

"I love you clementine"

"I love you to" she said

We laid down I put my arms around her waist and kissed her neck.

She kissed my cheek and buried her face in my neck.

We both fell asleep
