Austin: I'd say give the X-Men 10 more years to rest. Dark Phoenix really gives some showing that a film franchise like X-Men needs it's rest.
As for any sort of recastings for Magneto and Xavier, if they really want to go that route:
Just go that route with Xavier. As far as I can tell, his character isn't defined by his skin color. You want someone like Idris Elba, go for it. Just don't have it where it either messes with his character or doesn't work well.
(But to be fair, Patrick Sewart is a touch act)?
My only problem would be if they did it for Magneto specifically because of his backstory.
Those who remember, Magneto was a jew. And uh.... not to sound like a racist jackass, but, I'm not exactly sure there were black jews back then.
I get you wanna do representation in a film, but doing it for Magneto could make some massive problems for the character.
