I went to work late because I overslept. Since it took me the longest time to fall asleep. I was met with Pryce's disappointed face. Last thing I needed right now.

"Ms. Sienna, seems like you have enjoyed this weekend."

"Dr. Pryce, you know how Mr. Godfrey is. He forced me to go."

"I wonder how the both of you became friends. You seem to be quite put off by him during the meetings."

"Which accurately represent my feelings towards him. I promise, I do as he says in fear of him firing me." Part of that way true, part of that wasn't.

"Very well then. You already have a delayed start to your scheduled activities for the day. I suggest you get started now."

"Yes sir," I whispered and got to work. It was good actually. Having things to do made me not think. Making me not think made me less stressed.

"Sienna," called Dr. Pryce after I had worked for a solid good four hours.

"Much to your disapproval, Mr. Godfrey has called everyone to an unexpected meeting. You included."

Dr. Pryce looked at me sighing. I felt myself getting heated up but silently followed Pryce. "I admire your work ethic. To be blatantly honest, Roman does not always act the way he should. And he takes after his mother in ways, even if he denies it."

I made a note to face Roman in a few minutes as nothing but the CEO of this hellhouse and the son of Olivia Godfrey.

I sat down, right next to Pryce and opened my notebook to record significant events. Everyone soon flooded in and took their seats. There was only one empty seat and I secretly hoped he wouldn't even show up.

I didn't have to take my eyes off the notebook to know Roman Godfrey had entered the room. The silence and dread in the air were enough. I felt like he probably looked at me but my eyes stayed on the paper.

"Thank you for coming in such short notice. I'll cut this and get to the point. We have a new person on this board. This was an executive decision made by me. Unfortunately, I did not ask everyone else in this room but there were unavoidable circumstances. The new member is not present here today but when she does come, I want you to welcome Ms. Maria Stauffner cordially."

My ears perked up immediately as I heard her name. That was the first time I had taken my eyes off the empty notebook and looked at Roman questionably.

"That concludes the meeting. Thank you again," Roman said as people all over began leaving their seats and walking out the glass doors. Pryce and i got up to leave when Roman said, "Sienna, stay."

Luckily, Pryce understood how I felt and said, "Roman, Sienna is working under me and right now, I need her for something. Excuse us." Pryce walked out and I didnt even look at Roman as I followed behind Pryce.

"Thank you," I told Pryce.

"Of course. I knew he was bothering you."

"Dr, do you happen to know anything about Maria Stauffner?" i asked.

"No, I have never heard of her. Personally I think Roman's decision of adding someone to the board without anyone's consent or approval. Like i said, he does not always act as he should or think things through. Truly disappointing."

I nodded and we began to work again.

I went back home and told Peter about the meeting. "Shee-it. What's he going to do?" Peter shook his head.

"I have zero clue," I said. I checked my phone for the first time in that day. 30 missed calls all from Roman Godfrey. I hit the power button on the phone and threw it on the couch. Roman Godfrey would have to wait.
