INFJ-A (Nobodys Face)

My gaze perchances to light across the room
Where a nameless stranger sits in conversation
Or passes by unattentive to my existence.
I read a look in the lines of their face,
Some small sign, perhaps unnoticed by their acquaintance;
A subtle look that across the room
Tells me a drama is playing out in their inner world,
Silent to the rest of us.

Caught up in these thoughts and staring,
I stop and wonder for a moment,
Who against the sideways wall is watching me?
Does some nameless pair of eyes read a look on me
And wonder what it means?
Likely not, for to all the Nobodies, I am a Face
To be glanced over and forgotten,
For I am no matter, no player of a part
In the drama called, by them, My Life.

So with a sigh, a subtle look, I politely turn away.
I leave the stranger with their thoughts
And quietly go back to My Work.
