INTJ-a(The Serpent of Today)

158 7 1

Slimy, sickly, sullen-eyed freaks,
Lurking around every corner,
Lying in wait to tell me I'm wrong about them.
Lying.

Their words, honeyed with sinister intent,
Are designed to scrub my brain and yours,
Sliding into our minds with impunity,
Sliding.

Lying and sliding go well together, don't they?
Snakes can't well do one without the other,
And that's what they are - snakes,
Snakes telling lies and lying in wait,
Snakes we might repudiate,
Weren't they slithering into our homes,
Slithering into our children's minds,
Slithering constantly onto our hearts
With obdurate insistence that we are wrong.
Slithering.
