After what happened yesterday, my mind couldn’t rest for a second throughout the night. Thoughts of what I witnessed on the balcony crept through my mind making sleep an impossible task.
Who was that Toni guy? And how did he even know Sarah? He mentioned something about stuff and money. Did this mean Sarah was back to her old ways?
But she never dealt with big guys before. The biggest she had done was the night we got busted as far as I knew. She always liked money but she only got what she needed out of dealing not took it as a way of living.
Heck, Aaroosa said she went to school with us. Then she must had paid for it somehow. Was that why she was having to deal with the likes of Toni? To pay off her schooling?
I highly doubt it. Plus, Sarah never wanted to be a doctor, it was always her parent’s dream to see their little ‘angel’ a doctor. Maybe they were the ones who paid off for her education?
Something wasn’t adding up. How come she lived in this apartment which must’ve cost a lot of money while she still deals? And now she owns some really dangerous guy what seems to be a lot of money.
Hearing a knock on my door snapped me out of my thoughts, “Are you up yet?” Aaroosa opening the door just enough to peek inside.
“Yeah,” I mumbled and slowly got out of bed.
Looking at my balcony door, a feeling of curiosity crept in me so I slowly walked to it in hopes of finding Sarah there. But no one was there. The balcony was empty and there was no evidence of yesterday’s events. It’s like nothing happened. If I wasn’t there at that moment, I would have never known.
Sighing, I turned on my heel and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower before going to uni.
Getting out of the bathroom, I heard a faint noise in my room which I recognized as my notification tune so I quickly went in my room and grabbed my phone.
Seeing a new unread DM from Tasneem, I clicked on it and left the phone on my bed to load the page while I got out my black skirt and denim button-up shirt from the cupboard then I grabbed my phone again to read the DM.
‘Sorry I wasn’t online yesterday. Is everything alright?’
Reading her message, the urge to talk to her came back to me. Only Tasneem would understand what I was feeling when Zayn called me yesterday. And maybe she could have a logical explanation to what I heard yesterday or she could even tell me what I was supposed to do with this new information I had about Sarah.
‘A lot had happened. We need to talk ASAP, but I have uni. Can we talk when I get back?
Sending the DM, I placed the phone on the bed again while I got dressed in the outfit I picked, giving Tasneem time to respond. When I finished, I picked up my phone again to read her reply.
‘Dunno Maggs. I have lots of tutoring today. I’ll tell you if I have time tho. Sorry :( hope you have a good day at uni anyway X.’
She ignored me again? Even though this had happened way too often this last couple of weeks, I couldn’t help but to feel offended, even a little sad that she didn’t have time for me anymore.
