"Are you sure your mom wouldn't be upset?" I asked Zayn feeling extremely guilty.

Once I got that phone call from Ella, I wanted to help her and be there for her. But at the same time I was a guest at Zayn's house, spending time with his family and we had plans to stay up all night together. All that got cancelled because Zayn insisted he comes with me to see Ella. He told his mom and sisters to go back to Bradford so we won't ruin their preparation for Eid and we would join them tomorrow.

"Positive." He smiled a tight lipped smile focusing on the road ahead to my apartment.

"But she was sad just before my phone call. I don't want to add to her lists of disliking's for me." I frowned. First, I tell her I don't want her to interfere in my wedding plans making her cry and now I ruin her Eid's plans as well. She must really dislike me by now.

"She doesn't dislike you. She understands that your friend needs you now and she might even admire you for rushing to her side like that. Don't worry." Zayn's words were supposed to comfort me but I was still worried.

"Here we are." Zayn said once he parked in front of my building.

We got out of the car and I rushed inside of the building with Zayn not too far behind me. I walked up the stairs to my floor where I knew I would find Ella waiting for me but what surprised me was seeing Sarah with her.

My eyes widened and I stopped in my place at the top of the staircase not even taking a step ahead making Zayn bumped into my back but even that didn't make me move an inch.

"Maggie!" Ella wailed getting up from where she was crutched on the floor leaving a pissed looking Sarah behind.

Words seemed to disappear from my mind as all I did was stare at Sarah who was still crutched in front of my apartment alone. Although I had a genuine idea of how Sarah was having some trouble with whoever she makes 'business' deals with and that she was a mess, it still took me by surprise when I see just how messed-up she really was.

She lost some weight from the last time I saw her, making her skin over bones. Her blond hair seemed like it hadn't been washed for a while and her eyes had a very dark circles around them. She lit up a cigarette in her lips inhaling the toxic substance and getting up from her position.

"I see you two are back again." She said sounding cold yet I could clearly see that hurt feeling she tried so hard to mask.

"That's none of your business." I said sounding a little too harsh but just seeing her with Ella made me angry. Ella called me sounding disparate yet here she had Sarah with her. What did that even mean? Why would she run off to me when she had Sarah? Was she playing me again? Was she working with Sarah to gain my trust just to hurt me again?

"Sarah was just-"

"I don't care." I said turning on my heel and getting ready to walk away facing a very confused Zayn but he kept his thoughts to himself and followed me knowing I only needed support in whatever this situation was.

"Maggie, wait please." Ella shouted and ran after me. She managed to take a hold of my hand stopping me midway of the staircase. "Please don't go."

"You've got her. Why the hell do you want me?" My voice was cold yet my words were meant to hurt her someway.

"Sarah just got here a few seconds before you. She wanted to know why I looked like crap, saying shit like it was my turn or whatever. I didn't even understand." Sarah pleaded, her eyes searching for any hint of hope of me believing her as desperation laced her face.
