Walking through the brush to stand a mere few yards behind her, the student struggled to decide whether to confront her or not.

Deciding to stay to listen to the rest of her song, the child-assassin sat cross-legged on the grass, eyes closed, and listened as the (h/c)-haired beauty sang her song.

She moved her arms along with the rap, swinging them in random directions as if pretending to be an American Rapper™. The girl was unable to finish her song as she was shocked from her sporadic dancing by a stifled giggle coming from her one-person audience.
(Y/N) spun around, arms up in a defensive position, but was both relieved and embarrassed to see her blue-headed friend there, "Nagisa! What are you doing here?"
Nagisa smiled sheepishly, "I was going to ask you a question, but I decided to wait and listen to your song. But, I'm confused. What meaning did that song have?"
"What do you mean?" the (h/c)-head countered.
"You obviously chose that song for a reason, so why that song?"
(Y/N) turned around, "It's not that I don't feel things, but... well...
"I don't want to be a mistake."
"You're not a mistake," Nagisa put his hand on her shoulder, "Why would you think that?"
"I'm trying," (Y/N) continued, "Trying to edit myself. Because I'm afraid, I don't want to be forgotten. I don't want to disappear, Nagisa. I don't-..."
"I'm here," the blueberry comforted, "I'll never forget you, and I may not be strong or brave, but I'll protect you from your demons. You don't have to edit yourself because I love you, (Y/N). And I never want you to change."
The girl smiled, before realizing what Nagisa had said and blushing profusely, "You- You love me?"
Nagisa blushed at his slip of the tongue, but, knowing that he couldn't delete what he had said, continued, "Y-yeah. I liked you for a really long time, but when you got hurt and went into a coma, and I thought I'd never see you again... it terrified me... Enough to realize that I really do love you, (Y/N), and I'm not sure what I'd do without you."
"I saw you... when I thought I was dying... You're smile told me everything would be okay. Can you... smile for me again?"
"If I'm with you, I'd smile even as the last rays of sunlight set on the burning world. You're my happiness, (Y/N). My smile is yours."
