Shocking Revelations

Start from the beginning

GD: Voh jitna innocent dikhta hai na voh utna innocent hai nahi

Sanjana: You said he killed your wife right? Then explain how

She demanded for an explanation.

GD: Who are you to ask me for explanations? Why do you think ki main tumhe kuch explain karunga ha?

Sanjana: I think you already know the answers so just cut the line and tell me already

GD sighed at her stubborness and nevertheless decided on telling her the story.

GD: We were a happy family which incuded me, my wife, my son and his wife. Mere bete ki shaadi ke do saal baad Madhyam ki badi behen, Sanaya ka janam hua and we were on cloud nine. Jab se Sanaya ka janam hua tha na tab se hi voh meri favourite thi, meri jaan thi voh. Hum sab khush the aur fir teen saal baad Madhyam ka janam hua. Uske janam ke agle hi din hume pata chala ki meri wife yaani ke Madhyam ki dadi ko stomach cancer hai but we still time to save her. Humne uski treatment shuru ki and it was too apinful for her lekin jab bhi voh Madhyam ke saath hoti thi voh humesha hasti thi...humesha khush hoti thi and it made me feel happy too whenever  I saw her smiling with Madhyam. Ek saal aise hi beet gaya but there were no improvements in her health aur tab hume pata chala ki there is a small hole developing in Madhyam's heart and agar use waqt par treat nahi kiya toh he won't be able to survive. We all were heartbroken when the doctor told us this. My son tried everything possible that he could do to cure Madhyam but in vain fir doctor ne hume hope di that we can cure him through heart transplant but we would be needing a donor jiska heart Madhyam ke heart se match ho sake par we couldn't find one. A month passed by but nothing improved, na meri wife ki health or na hi Madhyam ki. Rather it got more worse. My wife was dying in pain and my grandson was fighting with death but I could do nothing. Fir ek din....

Flashback

(Veena is Maddy's dadi)

GD: Veena thoda sa toh kha lo. Tum beemar ho aur aisi haalat me bina khaye piye rehna tumhari health ke liye bhi acha nahi hai

Veena: Mujhe khaana nahi khaana hai...bhuk nahi hai

GD: are aise kaise bhuk nahi hai? Tumhe kuch toh khaana hi padega na

Veena: Mujhe hospital jaakar apna test karvana hai. Maine faisla kiya hai ki main Madhyam ko apna dil dena chahti hu

She said out of the blue, taking GD by shock. He loved his wife more than he loved anyone in the family. He was already dying every moment seeing his wife fighting with death and her words acted like the last nail to the coffin which enraged him to no extent.

GD: Tum pagal ho gayi ho?  Madhyam abhi sirf ek saal ka hua hai toh agar voh mar bhi gaya toh koi baat nahi kyuki ek saal me kisiko bhi kisise itni humdardi nahi hoti  ke voh unke marne ka maatam manaye par Veena tum meri patni ho, humne humari puri zindagi saath guzaari hai. Iss parivaar ko jode rakhne ke liye hume tumhari zaroorat hai...mujhe tumahri zaroorat hai . Tum aisa soch bhi kaise sakti ho ki main tumhe aisa kuch karne dunga?

Veena: Pagal main nahi aap ho gaye hai. Madhyam humara eklauta pota hai aur use zindagi jeene ka pura haq hai, main toh vaise bhi marne hi wali hu toh agar main apne pote ki jaan bachakar iss duniya se jaungi toh mujhe bhi  sukoon milega

GD: Main Madhyam ke baare me nahi sochna chahta, mere liye sirf tum maayne rakhti ho

He declared sternly making Veena sigh in disbelief.

Why wasn't this man understanding her feelings?

Veena: Apko shayad koi faraq nahi padta par mujhe padta hai aur ise aap meri aakhri iccha hi samajh lijiye. Agar aap chahte hai ki mujhe sukoon mile toh mujhe yeh karne dijiye varna mere jeevan ke bache hue din main isi afsos me bitaungi ki main apne pote ke liye kuch kar sakti thi par maine kuch nahi kiya

She said softly yet stubbornly and thus GD had to finally give in to her wish.

The next day they went into the hospital and it turned out that Veena was the apt donor they had been searching for Madhyam. Madhyam's mother was in tears of joy at the news but at the same time a burden of her son being the reason of her mother-in-law's early exit from their lives was forever settled on her chest  since she was no less than a mother to her and she didn't want to lose her but nevertheless she was grateful to her too because she was sacrificing herself to save her grandson's life.

Soon the day of the operation arrived. GD was still reluctant about the entire thing and was immensely unhappy but couldn't do anything because his wife was adamant on her decision. Maddy was operated successfully on one side and on the other side Veena took her last breaths as she bid adieu to the world leaving behind her husband in sorrows he would never be able to overcome and a grudge that was beginning to foster in his heart for his grandson who wasn't even aware of his fault.

Ironic. Isn't it?

End of flashback

GD: Agar Madhyam kabhi paida hi na hua hota toh shayad meri Veena kuch mahine ya kuch saal aur jee leti ya fir shayad voh puri tarah se theek ho jaati. Madhyam uski maut ka zimmedaar hai aur main use kabhi maaf nahi karunga aur isliye maine yeh tay kar rakha tha ki main uski life ko barbaad kardunga aur maine voh kar dikhaya. Maine use uska pyaar cheen liya jaise usne mujhse mera cheena tha and I'll make sure ki use voh khushi kabhi naseeb na ho

He said with anger radiating off his voice. He sounded psychotic to Sanjana. She couldn't believe that Maddy was being punished by his Grandfather for no fault of his at all and she also knew that the grudge and hatred that had made a home within GD would take a lot of time to melt yet it was important for him to have a reality check and realize what mistakes he had committed blinded in his absurd hatred.
