I wandered out of the rooms and into the elevator and heard a voice.
"Warren!" Cried Kayleigh, with Jaydan close on her heels. "We're coming." She was holding a bag on her bag, and her weapon.
"Okay." I said, as I took out my map that came from the crates. We were just south of our home, our entire childhood was over the horizon. We set out on the journey in a car that Kayleigh knew how to hot wire. When she got it starting, I got in and drove, past all of the smouldering wreckages, through tons of craters and piles of bodies. As the buildings got smaller, we saw more fields on the horizon. Slowly but surely we were coming up to Ashfield. I tried tuning the radio, and heard a man's voice say:
"That was another Smash hit celebrating the life of Elton John, who tragically passed on when his house was hit by the Russian Military. Here is another one, great for long country road journeys, its Tiny Dancer."
I sat back a little and relaxed as nostalgia flowed through my brain, making me feel fuzzy inside.
"Not him again." Laughed Kayleigh. I swatted her hand away as she went to turn the dial.
"Nobody has ever turned Tiny Dancer off." I said, "and youre not going to be the first."
"Didn't tiny dancer get cut off at the prom?"
"Yeah, but lets not talk about that 'cause it doesnt count!"
We laughed for a while, until I saw a sign that said:
Welcome to Sutton In Ashfield.
Enjoy your visit.
But the sign was half broken and the buildings around it were completely destroyed.
"Welcome back." I said, as we drove past a flaming bar...
