Despite feeling ill, we all decided to head out of the base for a little while. We were running low on food and the candles were running extermely low. We all headed out, with our weapons, just incase we ran into any hostile people, and the situation turned deadly. So far, the city was quiet, but we hadn't left much, so we couldnt be certain. We went straight into the unlooted shops, including a jewellery shop, a burger joint, a bar and a piano shop. When i went into the jewellery store, i picked kayleigh up a locket and a ring, pure gold and a diamond on top. We wandered into the piano shop, trying to have some fun in a dark time, for i had previosuly played.
"See if i still can-" i said, pressing the first few notes to a song that me and Kayleigh used to sing. While the rest of the group wandered around searching for food and survivors, kayleigh and i remained in the piano store, playing and singing songs on a grand piano, while she sat on the top of it. After i finished the song, i stood up hugged Kayleigh.
"You make me the happiest man alive. You can always make me smile even when you dont try. We have a little baby, and we are going to live happily ever after." I slowly took the ring out of my pocket making sure she didn't see. I held it out infront of her as i said:
"And i cant think of anything else that would make me happier than if you would take this."
She beamed and asked "Which finger do i put it on?"
"Youre wedding one." I replied as i sunk to one knee. "Will you be my wife?"
"Of course." She said throwing her arms around me. At that moment James wandered in, holding my nat.with his hand covered in blood.
"Warren, ive killed a guy." He siad, as he fell to the floor, his glasses falling next to his hand. I thought to myself, this seems familiar. And then it dawned on me. The dream. I began violently shaking, and began to destroy a nearby piano, using my bloodied bat, hitting every last part of it in a fit of psychosis. Things seemed to go in slow motion as Kayleigh ducked down, crying behind the big piano, as i swung at the glass windows, bringing strands of barbed wire down onto the floor.
"Where the fuck did this come from?" I said, distracted from my fit of uncertainty. I picked it up, and shoved it into my rucksack, along with a hammer and some u pins i picked up from the DIY shop. I headed over to Kayleigh to apologise for scaring her.
"I'm so sorry, i didn't mean for any of that to happen."
"Look at the fucking piano. That couldve been me."
The piano was mangled. Strings were snapped, hammers were bend and the keys were all on the floor. The way it looked before was never ever going to be seen again.
"I am so sorry for scaring you." I said, twitching. I held out a hand and allowed for Kayleigh to take it. She was still in shock but i agreed to tale her back to our base.
Upon arrival, I headed into our living area and took my bat. I cleaned the blood from it, and grabbed the barbed wire, hammer and pins. I wrapped the barbed wire around it. I hammered the U pins in to hold the wire steady and in the right place. I took the bat and swung it around a bit. I hit the wall with it and made sparks to fly out everywhere.
"I dub thee...
Lucille..."
