She let him up but he still had to take his time standing. Seb's breath had been ripped from his lungs.

"I wasn't ready," He chuckled.

She rose one eyebrow. "Uh-huh. That's what it is. You're just scared of losing a fight to me, aren't you?" She joked back, pushing Seb's chest lightly.

Quinn's mother laughed and then brought Seb in for a hug. "Good luck," She whispered in his ear and then moved to Quinn. "Be good, you two. Don't cause any trouble. And I want grandkids but not yet. Wait a year or two, let me feel young. For a while longer."

Seb's face went red as Quinn ducked into his shoulder. He knew it wasn't a big deal... but he loved it. It was adorable. She had started hiding her blushes in his chest and every time she did it, well he felt himself light up a little more.

"Tell dad I say bye," Quinn sniffled.

Her mom nodded sadly back. "If I find him."

"When you find him," Quinn corrected.

Her mom took Quinn in her arms one more time, kissing her forehead. "I love you."

"I love you too, mom." Quinn moved away from her mother and wrapped her arm around Seb's waist.

Her warmth spread throughout his body, making him serene and calm. He hadn't been this happy in a long time.

"What's your mom's name?" Seb asked Quinn.

"Yamina," She answered.

Odd name. But it fit her mom quite well. "And your dad's?"

"Oliver." She nodded to a large boulder sticking up from the ground. "I'm going to go undress so I can shift. How far is your pack?" She asked.

Seb internally groaned. "About half a day's sprint. Me and Fizel sprinted here because we were late and well— I thought I was going to pass out. So maybe... a full day's run?"

Fides was one of the further out Packs that got invited to the meeting. The meeting was usually where Packs in the state came together to talk about— well, whatever needed to be talked about. It came once a year, and it was always a pain in the ass.

She sighed but went to shift anyways. He let her shift first, turning around while she changed out of her clothes. It was all he had not to turn around and mark her right where they stood.

QUINN
I THINK I FORGET I'm a very fast runner and a very short distance runner.

We hadn't even gotten halfway to Fides and I was already breathing heavily, out of breath.

Can we take a break? I asked, looking over at Sebastián's wolf.

He nodded back to me. I hear a river up ahead. We moved forward. Sebastián had amazing tracking skills considering he was a Warrior and well... not a tracker.

I eventually heard the river he was talking about and internally moaned with relief. Thank the moon.

Were you a tracker in your past life? You're really good and listening and just— tracking down what you want. I laughed. It was partly a joke. You didn't have to be a tracker to have good hearing and know how to do things

If a wolf could chuckle, I'm sure Sebastián's would have. My mother is head of our Pack Trackers, we only have four but she is very proud of that title. It's why I grew up next to Fizel, he's like my brother.

I felt the warmth and love he held for his mother and Fizel causing me to smile to myself. Are you going to be Gamma, the Pack Trainer? If he was so close to his Alpha's son and was such a great Warrior, than surely Fizel would make him the Pack Gamma once he usurps his father's position.
