After I had finished conversing with Greg he called for two hunters to take me to my sister's apartment to get what little things I needed. I followed them out of the compound. In the shadows I saw a few of Blake's men but also knew that the hunters I was with hadn't noticed them. We climbed into the fancy car that had been waiting out front for us to use. I ran my fingers across the sleek black body of the car before climbing into the front passenger seat.

"Miss Wayne," the driver greeted me as the two hunters got into the back seat.

"Is it normal to have a vehicle like this for someone to borrow?" I asked as the hunter in the back seat scoffed.

"This is Mr. Marks's personal vehicle he is letting you use," the hunter said causing my lips to part.

"Seriously?" I muttered as we pulled up at my sister's apartment. The hunters laughed as we got out of the car. "Is there any particular reason that he would do that?"

"You are the only vampire to become human plus you are basically hunter royalty as a Wayne," the first hunter said as we stood at the front door waiting for my sister to let us in. The door swung open seconds before her arms wrapped around me.

"Ash," she whispered her voice trembling with sadness.

"Nik," I said stroking her hair before we separated. "I'm so sorry about mom. I couldn't save her."

"I know I'm just glad you are safe. I know you said you were going to stay at the compound so how can I help you?" She asked allowing all of us inside slightly surprised to see my entourage.

"I just need to get my stuff and then I'll be out of your hair," I said simply and she nodded.

"Can I get you boys anything while we wait for Ash?" Nikki asked the hunters. All of the declined and instead followed me up to my room. I grabbed the suitcase and my cell before I walked out of the room.

"Nikki. If you need anything you can call me. I'm sure they would let you see me if you need to as well," I said as her blue eyes filled with tears. I rushed forward capturing her in my arms trying to calm her. "I love you so much Nik. Be safe."

"I will I promise," she said wiping the tears off her cheeks. "I love you too Ash."

"Call me," I told her firmly before stepping out of the apartment. One of the hunters grabbed the suitcase for me putting it in the trunk while I climbed into the passenger seat. The ride was awkwardly silent all the way back to the compound. The hunters didn't leave my side until I was back in my room with my suitcase. I put my things down looking around the room. I sat on my bed checking my phone to find several texts from Blake requesting my presence whereas I had nothing from Tyler and that only added to the pain I felt being away from Ty. I took a deep breath before replying to Blake.

Me: Hey, sorry I'm deeply inside the compound and under supervision but I'll try to get away as soon as possible. I'm supposed to shadow a man named Greg Marks, he knows Crystal.

Blake: be careful. If you get too deep we might not be able to pull you out.

Me: please, I'm always cautious.

Blake: totally.

Me: I'm sensing sarcasm.

Blake: keep me informed.

I smiled before deleting out entire conversation history. I set my phone aside running my fingers through my golden hair with a sigh. I found myself staring at my phone as sadness brushed through me urging me to dial Tyler's number. With tears pooled in my eyes I grabbed the phone pulling up his contact information. The phone rang and rang before I someone picked up.

"Hello," a girly voice said as I took a sharp breath feeling my heart crack. I hung up instantly before deciding to go over to Tyler's apartment. I stormed out of the compound only slowing to tell the front desk where I was going. I reached the apartment complex heading into the building. I knocked on the door only for the same girl I heard on the phone to open the door.

"I need to see Ty!" I snapped as her pleasant smile faded and turned icy.

"He doesn't want to see you!" She spat as I glared at her. I pushed past her to see Tyler standing there. Our eyes locked as tears rushed down my cheeks.

"I almost died and not a damn word from you. I love you Tyler and I haven't heard a word from you since our fight. Did you even notice I left? My ring is in the apartment and yet not a word," I said with tears cascading down my face with anger and pain flowing through the room as I spoke. He just stared at me saying nothing. I scoffed my pain still present but my anger rising. "You aren't going to say anything?!" I turned away from him feeling more broken than before. "I hope you are happy. I love you Tyler but if you aren't willing to fight for this relationship anymore I can't do it alone." I wiped the tears off my face walking towards the door. I wanted him to call out and stop me but he didn't say a single thing. I took a shaky breath as I stepped out of the apartment and out of the building. Once outside tears raced down my face as I clutched my stomach sinking down onto the pavement outside. I cried out in agony letting the pain consume me. People who walked by stared but I was too hurt to care as I sobbed. I felt two arms around me and see Blake scooping me up. He placed me in the car without a word taking me to his apartment ignoring my tears out of respect. He didn't want to push me to share and so he didn't. We reached the apartment and I texted Greg telling him a lie about getting a hotel for the night. I entered the apartment instantly locking myself in a room. I lay on the mattress sobbing until I managed to slip into unconsciousness.
