Taylor's breath came out in hard pants as she bent down, placing her hands on her knees. Trying to suck in as much air as possible, she stared at the ground, concentrating hard on a few blades of grass to try and make her vision not so blurry. Her stomach rolled, and for a second, Taylor wondered if she would actually throw up.

Track running had never been an easy sport to train for, and being as competitive as she was, Taylor always pushed herself to her limits, the rush of exhilaration she felt when running was addictive, like a smoker with nicotine.

Her mood was rocketing up since the night before when she had been concerned about Kally. She had never seen her so low, so sad. It had made her teary to witness her best friends feelings.

But she had a silly smile on her face now as she stood up straight and wiped her face with a towel.

Then she heard the giggling.

Turning to look over at the other track team members, Taylor's eyes zeroed in on Alexis, her body practically draped over someone else's like a blanket. It wasn't until she looked at her poor victim, did her eyes narrow.

Nate was grinning at something Oliver had said beside him, and Alexis had laughed at whatever it was. Her arm was tight around his shoulders, her other on his thigh.

Jealou-annoyance sprang up into Taylor's blood. There was such a thing as too much PDA, and Alexis might as well just give him a pat on the crotch, that's how close her hand was. He still hadn't pulled away.

Taylor squashed the rest of her annoyance, about to turn away when Nate glanced over at her. She froze, his gaze darkening as they continued the stare off. He looked breath-taking, like always.

Taylor felt the sweat beads on her forehead, knowing she looked only a seventh as good as he did just then. His mouth quirked, and he turned back to Oliver, still not pushing off Alexis.

Well, Taylor thought, shaking her head slightly, he can have whoever he likes. It's not like they were committed to each other.

Oh, god. Her hand just touched his little fellow.

"Hey, T. You ready to head off?" Kally asked, her gear in her hands. Taylor nodded, looking away from the pair quickly and marching over to the bench a few rows down from where they were sitting to grab her duffel bag.

"-I don't even know why I did it. She just looked so pathetic, I couldn't help but give her a pity kiss. That's all it was, man. Then you scared the shit out of me, and I realised what a mistake it was." Oliver was telling Nate and Alexis about the night before.

Oh, hell no. Taylor looked up at Oliver, her eyes seeing red with anger. She slammed her bag down, storming up the steps to reach him, Nate and Alexis. Oliver saw her coming, and his eyes widened, Nate just looked slightly amused, and Alexis annoyed.

"Excuse me, Oliver, but I couldn't help but overhear you slamming my best friend. Just so you know, she is far too amazing to fall for someone as stupid and arrogant as you. And as for her being pathetic? She hasn't been down-rating you in front of others, that's all you. You're the pathetic one. Get over yourself, hotshot." Taylor said in a low, eerily calm voice. She watched as Oliver's face went from confusion, to shock, then embarrassment.

"Taylor-"

"See you in chem." She said, cutting him off. As she was about to turn, she caught sight of Alexis leaning into Nate, her mouth at his ear. He was watching Taylor, and she overheard what Alexis whispered.

"I told you she's a crazy bitch."

"Don't even get me started on you, Alexis." Taylor hissed, looking down to the blond. Alexis face filled with confusion.
