Ellis doesn't have a chance to react before I interrupted.
"It's for a survey she has to conduct for work. Carly I told you to keep your work at home tonight." I said trying to clarify the awkward dumb situation that Carly had put me in.

"You obviously don't have to answer if you're not comfortable." Carly clarifies and Ellis seems to be unsure of what to say.
"I lost my virginity quite young, too young I think but once I did it I abstained for a very long time. I was 15, I think and I just wanted to do something adult like. I only really knew one thing exclusive to adults." He says and his explanation leaves things even heavier in the air.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

"No no, life is all about uncomfortable moments. I hope you render enough responses for your survey." He says and the boy is entirely too sweet. so sweet I just wanna to have just one bite, too much would but problematic but just one would suffice the craving.

"You know since you shared I'll share too. I lost mine at 15. I thought that I'd make me prettier because all the girls that had lost it had guys running after them. What about you Astrid?" Carly said and I cleared my throat.
"I don't think that's an appropriate subject matter for us to discuss."

"Oh please, Astrid we're all adults here."

"I was 17 it was on prom night." I said keeping it breeze.

"What was it like?" Carly pushed on and I gave her a look.
"It was exactly what you'd expect from losing your virginity to someone you have no attachment." I said with a clenched jaw. Just wanting this to be over.

"Can I just clarify that my motives were to make everyone so uncomfortable that they loosen up. You two are going to work very closely together in the future. I want you both to be comfortable with each other." Carly said and I had to stiffen a laugh.
"You asked us very invasive questions to make us comfortable?" Ellis asked and
Carly nods.
"Don't you both feel better acquainted now?"

Ellis turns to look at me like he was trying to follow my lead.
"Thank you for the effort." I said before kicking her foot under the table once more.

"Ellis, there is a problem with the wine ordered. There's a special box that wasn't delivered could you drive up there and get it." Mrs Alesi said and Ellis replied "of course- but I can't really drive here yet." Ellis explains and Carly kicks me under the table. I shoot up and now Mrs Alesi is expecting me to make a grand gesture.

"I'll drive you, I haven't had a drink yet."  I said.

Mrs Alesi thanks me for my generous offer and me and Ellis walked side by side despite my huge dress.
We walk in silence.

"I'm sorry if my friend made you uncomfortable." I said and he doesn't say anything in reply for a little while.
"But in truth it did help break the ice a little to know you're not a robot." Ellis said jokingly and I stopped walking.
"I'm S-sorry I didn't mean to offend you."
He says shyly and I chuckled.
"You laughed?" He asked as if I was incapable.

"My dress got stuck in my shoes." I said explaining why I had stopped walking earlier and attempted to get down to fix it but I couldn't reach.

He bends down and puts his hand out for my shoe.

I lifted up my dress and put my shoe in his palm he helps slip my feet off the high heels and then pull the dress out of my shoes before helping me put it back in.

I couldn't help but notice his position below me. He looked even better from the top. If I was any other version of myself I would've thought of him naked and on his knees begging to touch even my feet but I was this version of myself who thought his helpfulness was going to hold his ability to hold our company up for the upcoming months.
