Chapter One - You ever do that to me again, I SWEAR!

"You have the cheek to hit on me! Really! I cannot believe you!" My voice was coming out in a violent hiss. I could see the change in his eyes, worry and guilt covered them. My body was trembling as I tried not to let my emotions break free, I couldn't... I wouldn't. I was the strong one, the rock. Someone who offered a shoulder to cry upon, never taking the offer to use others. My bottom lip trembled as my eyes clouded over as tears started to form in the corner of them.

Taking in a sharp breath, I shut my eyes tightly. I couldn't believe I was allowing Damon Salvatore to see me like this, biting down harshly on my bottom lip I attempted to stop my shaking. But at the moment was failing terribly. 

-// Damon's pov //- 

I was walking through the halls of the hospital after I had just fed my blood to Blondie, as I was heading to the exit my mind was far away. Thinking about how I was fooled by Katherine, how could I be so stupid! Of course Elena wouldn't kiss me, she was with Stefan. I practically growled thinking about it, causing a few nurses to give me strange worried glances, but I didn't care what they were thinking about, I just needed to get out of here and have a drink. Preferably something blonde and perky, I smirked seeing a nurse matching my description perfectly, eyeing me up hungrily.

Turning round a corner I felt a figure connect with my chest, looking down I saw the familiar appearance of Sarafina. She clearly was out of it when she hit me as she stumbled backwards in shock, instinctively my hands reached out latching onto her waist steadying her on her feet. 

I couldn't help but smirk as she looked up at me, her husky dog eyes widened slightly as she attempted to retreat away. But I held on tight making her only be able to put a foot's distance between us, she glanced to the ground before looking up in hostility, she soon found her voice as she snapped "Could you perhaps remove your hands from me?" her British accent still thick even though she had lived here for most of her life. 

I couldn't help but think she was cute, she had no make up on but that didn't stop her from being a looker. I smirked as a chuckle rumbled through me, I may have to take a rain check on that blonde and perky meal. Not removing my hands from her lithe figure, I replied "Please you meant to do that! You just cant keep your hands off me can you?" I grinned at her, loving to argue with this girl. She was feisty but I didn't get to see her often, blame that to Elena and Stefan. I frowned slightly thinking about them before giving a shake of my head as I head Sara talking again, I didn't catch what she said but I could tell she was angry.

"You have the cheek to hit on me! Really! I cannot believe you!" She hissed her body trembling. 

I frowned shuffling awkwardly, reaching my hand behind my head and giving my hair a small shake.         I didn't know what to say to her, she looked angry okay not angry, but truly pissed! I hadn't seen her like this before, and I'm sure many people hadn't either. She looked in distress her eyes welling up it was quite dramatic, not in the way you would groan in annoyance and thinking *oh here she goes again* but in away it really pulled at your heart strings, seeing her eyes close as she took in shaky breaths I did the only thing I could think of, and hugged her.

As I pulled her into my chest I felt her tense, I smirked this girl wasn't used to be comforted. Clearing my throat I ran my hand through her hair. "You know Caroline's going to be okay, she woke up this morning. And was unfortunatley her usual self" I spoke in a soothing tone, as if I was trying to calm a spooked animal. But of course I couldn't help but add a bit of my humour into the seriousness. Thankfully she didn't bite my head of, I even swear I heard a small chuckle.

Pushing her away softly, I placed my finger under her chin tilting her head upwards to look at me "You should go see her, I'm sure she is wondering where you are..." I gave her a warm smile removing my hand from her face before giving her shoulder a reassuring squeeze, moving round her I walked away. Walking away I realised what had just happened, rubbing my temple I gave a small groan *what was this town doing to me...* 

-// Sarafina's pov //- 

I stood frozen, what had just happened.... Did Damon Salvatore just comfort me? Breathing out a long breath of air, I snorted *this was too insane* Shaking my head I headed towards the room Caroline would be in. Pulling at the handle I walked inside, I saw her laying on the bed flicking through the TV channels. I stifled a laugh hearing her groan before crying out "I'M BORED" She gave a small whine throwing herself back into the bed in a dramatic motion.

That's it I couldn't control it the urge was too much, a burst of laughter erupted from me. The noise caused Caroline to shoot up out of bed, she was about to shout in anger when she saw it was me. She grinned before flinging herself out of bed wincing in the process as she charged at me. Seeing her wince I stood up straight, I wrapped my arms around her as I pulled her into an protective embrace. I smiled warmly at her which she eagerly returned, Caroline Forbes wasn't just my friend she was my sister, maybe it was cliche but I would die for this girl she was an important piece in my heart and I would be lost without her. "Caroline Forbes... You ever do that to me again, I SWEAR!" I didn't get to finish my sentence, as she scoffed rolling her eyes as she smacked me upside the head "Don't threaten me Serri!" She snapped playfully, causing us both to laugh as we headed back to her hospital bed. The worry that was surrounding me had filtered away.
